Question stock stereo dead

I just got my 04 TL back from the autobody shop because I had to have it repaired after a cab took off my front bumper. The guy from the shop dropped it off at my mom's house yesterday because I couldn't get it due to work, and tonight I picked it up. I turned it on and the NAVI asked for the code, which I input, but the stereo will not turn on. It has no lights or power. I replaced the fuse which did not appear to be blown, but no luck.

Just a guess but I have no idea what happens when you input the anti-theft code wrong too many times, maybe it causes this symptom. I've disconnected the battery and will leave it disconnected for an hour or so hoping that if that is the case it will reset, although this is just a hope and a prayer.

Is anyone familiar with what would cause the stereo to simply not power up?

Thanks in advance.

The radio has a separate code from the Navi.
The radio code should be on another card given to you with the owner's manual case. Otherwise, the radio code might be stuck onto the side of the glove compartment.

yea I have the radio code. no problems there. the radio won't power on that's the issue. not sure if the guys at the shop tried to input the wrong code (the one stuck on the side of the glove box) too many times and the unit is dead now or what. (the code on the glovebox is not the right one as I've had it replaced once before cuz it ate my cds).

Not sure if this helps any but I had to put my radio code in this weekend. Just after you type in the code you should hear a mid-high level pitch beep, then it turns on itself. You shouldn't have to turn it on after entering the code.

simply I need to know what the unit does when you input the wrong code too many times...more specifically, I'd like to know if the unit becomes lifeless.

if it does die, as mine is currently dead, how do you fix it? am I on the right track with disconnecting it from power for a period of time???

ok it's fixed. turns out the fuse I thought was the radio fuse was the doors. I mistook it for the radio fuse because I counted from the wrong direction. for some reason the radio fuse was a 10a when the book calls for a 20a. it was blown. I replaced it with a 20a and all is good now.

same thing happened to me. i took my car too after the body shop, got it back, and then the headunit didnt work anymore for some reason. I had to wait over a month for my dealer to get the new radio in stock. My dealer said maybe it was that I had some burned cds in there and that made the cd player jam. (it was only the CD player that stopped working btw).

Hmm...I wonder why it had the wrong fuse in there? Did you buy the car new?
