stock amp removal? having issues with my aftermarker system.

im trying to fix my audio system , i have 2 amps in the trunk that i had a local shop install. a kenwood 8404 4 channel and an mtx jh1200 mono. My speakers are starting to go out at high volumes but when i check the aftermarket amps they dont turn off and stay on. i went to this installer and he said that its the stock amplifier and i need a capacitor. he said the problem was that the aftermarket amps are going through the stock amp and the local shop i went to never removed the stock amp because they charge for that. and also the light on the bass knob for my 3sixty.2 is begining to flash on and off. and i am getting a high pitched whine from my front left tweeter. when the car starts its not there but when i turn up the radio volume and start blasting and then turn it down i hear a ticking or popping sound and whines coming from the front left tweeter. is the installer right? are my aftermarket amps running through the stock amp? i got focals in the front and RF in the back. some help would be much appreciated.

you don't have to remove it completely. you can unplug the black harness and solder rca connectors to it, and run rca's to the back.

once you solder the rca female connector to it, you can use it as a low level input on the three sixty.

So does that mean I have to unplug the rca's connected to the 3sixty and solder those to the rca female connector? which cable is that and how exactly are you suppose to solder that together?

I'd still bypass the factory amp, except I'd still have it connected to the front cc if you want the 5.1 surround. You're going to need it if you have navi. (that's where the voice commands come from).

The installer should have removed the plug going to the stock amp. Sounds like there is a grounding issue at hand. Take it back to the installer and have them fix it, have them remove the stock amp (which is in the passenger side kick panel near your feet), and tell them you're not going to pay for it since it's something that should be working anyway.

not to hijack your thread but is it possible to just remove the stock amp and put an aftermarket amp in there where the stock amp was?

The stock amp is way too small to put an aftermarket in its place. Most aftermarket amps are mounted in the trunk.

OP, Leave the oem amp plugged in to use your center channel and unplug the speaker outputs from the stock amp and use that signal to the line out converter or 3sixty2.
