replace factory speakers

replace factory speakers

what size speakers are actual stock. is it 5 1/4 door, 6 1/2 in rear and 3 1/2 in the front dash? i have a 2005 tl.

No, the correct size is 8 inches. It only looks like 6x9 because the rear deck is molded that way.

correct sub is 8in. i was referring to the rear speakers being 6X9 not the sub.

The rear speakers are the same size as the front door speakers.

any way i could replace the stock sub with a JL 8'?? just a shot in the dark, the JL's magnet has to be hella big

Anyone know if it's worth it to replace the stock 8" sub vs aftermarket? And so any reccomendations on which one would fit based on the magnet? Thanks

Nevermind last post....found a few threads about it....seems like it's more of a pain to replace vs getting a separate box....
