First Year - What Should I Do?

Well my 3 month trial ended and I refused to re-up at the regular monthly subscription. What should be my next move, wait for some sort of come back to me flyer or try this win me back for $77 deal? From what I have been reading the win me back $77 deal’s for the second year, right?

Never Mind!

Well I decided to just go ahead and try the number and the script and voila I am back up. Took a total of 5 minutes. As another reader said earlier, this helps my defense of being on this board all the time to my wife.

I had 3 weeks left of my trial period but the flyer that I "got" (the one posted here) said the offer for $77 expired January 31, 2006, so I just called and said "I wanted to take advantage of the offer in this flyer," and the lady said "no problem", it was very easy

How to Get $77 XM for 2nd year?

Sorry for the overlap between this and the main "$77" thread but I was wondering how many people have had success with the "zwinback" or any other special offers AFTER already having a good offer for 1 (or more) year

For instance, today I used the flyer trick to get my first year for $77 and the lady said "did you want to sign up for 2 years," when I asked how much the 2nd year would be she said "regular price" so I obviously said no, and then when I asked if I could get 2 years for $77 she laughed and said "no way"

So, I am wondering how hard it will be to renew this offer once my year expires, should I just play dumb and say "I got a flyer in the mail for $77 etc." again, or should I tell them the service is too expensive in the hope they will give me a better price to retain my business? I would like to know what strategies have worked for other people.

Oh Happy Day..

It seems everyone has followed the instructions well and is having excellent results! That's great. The scan of the flyer has been a real boon as well.

If this thread has been helpful to you, you can check that box at the top of the thread marked "Rate Thread" to express your feelings.

The results are shown on the index page.

3 month free extension- what happens next?

I called last year and was given the $60 annual rate. I expected I would be notified when the year ended. However, I was surprised to learn that after my initial year at $60, I was then being charged (without notification) the standard $12.95 per month fee. I called to complain and they gave me 3 months for free if I agreed to not cancel. So, now I have 3 months free.

Has anyone received the $77 rate for a second year after an additional 3 months for free?

A couple of people in this thread have mentioned that they were able to get a cheap renewal even though they already had used a year, I started a thread today on this very topic hoping to get tips on how to do a 2nd (or third) cheap renewal because it seems like most of the tips are geared towards 1st timers but there wasn't much interest

EDIT: That thread has been merged with this one. We don't need two threads with the same subject/title.

I know.... 96 some posts is a lot to read. But it's better than 700 in the old thread.

And some people want instant answers and gratification. However, ALL these circumstances have been discussed, questions asked and answered if you read the thread.

Let me make it easy: CLICK HERE

Please don't start new threads on the same topic. It is confusing to people.

Good luck to all. Your luck will be directly proportionate to your reading comprehension of this thread. Just go back a few pages.

My XM expired in the beginning of December (coming off the 60/yr offer) and I didn't do anything...got letters about renewing for $38/quarter and didn't do anything. Got a 2nd bill today for the $38 and called up to get the $77/yr. After a 21 minute hold time rep was very cool about giving the promo and also credited me for the past 6 weeks so no charge for that....sweet!

Don't know if you guys got wind of a promotion I was just made aware of. But, after my 90-day eval was up (about 2 weeks ago), I got a call from XM via a pre-recording stating I could renew for another 3 months for $4.99/month. I called XM and asked if I dould do it for an entire year. They said no, but agreed to the $77/year if I renewed for 12 monhts. I opted for the $77 12 month plan.

I just got my xm back for $77. Just followed the script.

FYI, I already had my service for over 1 year (3 month free trial, then 1 year at $60).

I would never pay full price for xm but for 5-7 dollars a month I would do it.

THIS SITE ROCKS!

Well this is going to be my first post. My wife and I bought our TL about 4 months ago, and I noticed our XM free trial finally expired. I found this forum, and all I have to say is thank you for all the info. I followed the script exactly as it was written and I had no problems. The guy I spoke to renewed my XM right away, and it only cost $77 even I guess I didnt have to pay tax or anything. So thanks for the info.

Just a little tid bit for those of you out there that have XM and was wondering if the IPOD adapter from Acura would work with XM. The answer is yes! When you buy the IPOD intergration adapter let the parts department rep know that you have XM and you would like to keep it. There should be a extra piece you can buy that will allow you to keep XM and still use the IPOD intergration adapter.

WOW, you guys are not kidding about XM being disorganized. My subscription expired back in early December (the end of a $60 year), and I thought it would just turn off. Instead, I was "auto-renewed" for three months and billed $41.19. I ignored the bill, which was probably a mistake, and continued to receive XM without having paid.

Today, I called the 4114 number and tried for the ZWINBACK deal, but was told it was only available for customers who have been disconnected for at least four months, and I wasn't even technically disconnected yet even though I hadn't been paying. She wouldn't budge, but cheerfully agreed to disconnect me.

Immediately afterwards, I called the 7117 number from this post and simply said I wanted to renew at the $77 rate. He said the computer wasn't accepting this, so he put me on hold to speak to a supervisor, came back and minute later, and all was well. My subscription is good through a year from today, and I'm only being charged $77 plus state fees. No mention of charging me for these last few weeks that I was receiving XM without paying. Even if they do come back and charge me regular price for those weeks, I still can't complain. This website rocks!

Cancelled my services last week on my Chevy Suburban and called in today to use the ZWINBACK code. I mentioned I received a flyer for $77 and I was asked if my 3 month trial expired and I said yes. He processed it with a credit card and didn't even bother to ask about the code. I'm all set and a happy camper. Thanks guys!!!

I recieved the quarterly bill. I called the standard customer service and cancelled and made sure that they would not charge me. I then proceeded to call the number in here, followed the script and recieved it at 77 dollars with no activation fee. I didnt even have to give them the ZWINBACK code. It worked like a charm on the first try! This forum is great! To top it off they arent gonna charge me until March, they are going to let my free trial expire first.

Another satisfied customer. My trial period runs out at the end of February. $77 will be charged then and I'm good until Feb. 2007.

No hassle, no code requested. I asked for the $77 "unless she knew of something better."

Just called for the $77 deal and didn't have any problem. Asked for the $77.00 promotion and the guy asked me if I had a code. I said no since I didn't have it in front of me. He took my credit card number and verified the amount. Done deal.

Got XM back today in the TL, my trial subscription expired about 4 months ago. No problem getting it for the $77 a year price. The rep never asked for the "zwinback" code, just mention the letter you received with the $77/year price. As long as your subscription has expired you shouldn't have a problem getting the deal.

Was waiting and waiting for my XM to turn off... it finally did so I called, turns out my wife renewed and I was just sitting on the invoice. Turned off due to delinquency (whoops) So I agreed to pay pro-rated what had already been "listened to" at the old rate, then asked to renew at the $77 rate ... after a minute on hold, Violia .. new rate applied.

Thank you Acurazine You guys Rock

I just got off the phone with XM. It worked like a charm. I told her that I recieved a flyer in the mail stating that I could sign up for a year for only $77 and she said "sure!" (I didn't really get it.. I just saw the one in the other post) She is even going to credit me for the 22 days that I have left on my service from my last years account ($60 on the Winback promotion). I couldn't have done it with out AcuraZine.

Oh, and if you intend to use that promotion, do it quickly because it says on the flyer that it expires on January 31st but she said that they will still honor it so act fast!!

Just called and followed the script, worked like a charm.

$77 for the year starting when mine expires later this month. No taxes or additional charges.

They will not even bill my card till the current service expiration date.

Super response on Super Bowl Sunday
Received letter last week stating XM would auto renew for $$38.85/Qtr.

Just got off the phone, I called 800.321.7117 told them I wanted to renew @ $77/yr. Guy said like you did last year? I said yes. He said that was a one year promotion that expired. I told him I just got a new flyer. He asked for the promo code and said OK, $77+ state and local taxes; we'll bill you.

My current subscription IS the $77/year one.. It expires in early July 2005. I wonder if there is a way for me to get another low-cost re-subscription...

Talking called 2 times

I had to call twice to get the offer. The first time I called they wanted the zwinback offer code NOT the radio code. So i stated I couldn't find my flyer it was misplaced and therefore How would i knew that i was up for a renewal. They wouldn't budge.

2nd time I called, I played the same story. This time I told the rep. , I found the flyer. They rep didn't ask for a offer code or anything such. I was ready to tell them there is no offer code (basing this off of the flyer someone scanned and posted on this site) on the flyer. This guy gave me the 77.00 promotional offer right when my 60.00 offer ends.

I made him give me his call center number and his name just in case this didn't/wouldn't go through. AFTER ALL THIS .....YES I GOT THE 77.00 OFFER....

hehe.
that is my story.....
hope that helps.....

zwinback

simply simple

I called xm radio (800-998-7900) after i got the letter that my service is going to expire and she told me that i cannot resign up for the 60 dollars a year. I can get a rate of 119.88 a year. I wasnt taking that. So i headed back over to this forum and see this zwinback for $77 a year. I can swallow that offer. So i called the 800-682-4114 number and started off real friendly asking how her day was going then stated that i got flyer in mail that stated zwinback for 77 a year and that i have a credit card on file that she can just charge it to. ok sir, done. Also credited back the activation charge. Remember to be friendly and nice with no attitude and it will go right through.

DON'T CALL BEFORE YOUR YEAR EXPIRES !

Thanks for the great info

Hello friends,

I just wanted to be another reader to confirm that the $77 deal is still good. I successfully renewed my subscription a few minutes ago by calling the number and following the script, and the call was absolutely hassle-free. And in California there is no tax added to the rate, so I was charged $77 flat. Thank you to the members of this forum for some great information!
