The SCRIPT is to call in and tell the rep that you want to renew your XM for $77 for a whole year. When the rep ask what promotion your asking about tell the rep that you received a letter from them saying that you can renew your XM for $77 for a whole year. If they ask for a code tell them it is ZWINBACK. If they keep on asking you questions about how you got the offer just say you received a letter in the mail with that ZWINBACK code. Just stick to it and don't give in and the rep will sign you up for another year for $77. Good luck Konst_ms.

Guys......

Just follow the script in the post right ABOVE.

Anyway, I tried to get the deal 3 weeks ago as my $60 offer was expiring.
They would not budge. I tried 4 times with the script above like everyone here was doing. Nothing....so, I told them to let the service expire which it did.
So i had no XM for the last 3 weeks or so.

So tonight, I called them and told them I want to RE-subscribe for the $77 price which i received in the mial. No questions asked, no problems. My XM service resumed 15 minutes ago for the awesome price of $77.

for those who are turned down, just let the service run out and wait a couple of weeks.

It worked....slick as snot. Gave them the zwinback code plus the radio code and they signed me up for $77 for another year. They didn't hesitate at all. Thanks everyone for your input, especially Xpditor. Great instructions and encouragement.

Is this ZWINBACK promotion just for TL owners or will it work for RL owners too or do they not even know/care what model car I have?

Hey, if you can afford an RL then you can afford to pay full price for XM. Just kidding. It should work for you too. Let us know.

They don't know or care. A radio is a radio.

Maybe we should tell Michael Wan or one of the moderators on RL to link to this thread?

ZWINBACK is still good in 2006. My XM expired yesterday and I called today (1/2/06) to renew. After I gave them my XM radio code, I simply stated that I wanted to renew my XM under the $77 / year promotion and the operator said "great". I was prepared to give ZWINBACK as the promotion code, but she didn't even ask for it or inquire how I knew about the promotion. Thanks all for the information. Still loving my TL after 90 days and looking forward to "cheap" XM for the next year.

I just called in today as my xm should be expiring in the next few hours, i jut said i recieved a flier for 77 dollars to renew and she honored it right away. She did ask for a code on the flier, but i said it was not accessible to me at the moment. Plus, she mentioned how i had switched to some quaterly invoice, which was bs because i gave them a credit card. So please don't wait for it to run out!

Just called in just now to renew. One word of advise, DONT LET YOUR ORIGINAL PROMOTION RUN OUT! I originally activiated my XM after my initial 3 month period in 04 on 12/11/2004 with the 60 dollar for a yea promotion, it ran out on 12/11/2005.

Today is 1/2/2006, we recieved a quarterly bill in the mail of $41.44.

Had my dad call in this morning to try and ask to cancel the service. (Also to try for them to honor the 77 dollar promotion) Dad asked where their calling center is, the nice lady customer service rep said Manila, Philippines...well...my dad, having the young character he has...and us being Filipino...he starts talking in out native language Tagalog..and the rep starts laughing and starts talking in tagalog...lets just say...she helped us with the 41.44 bill...and honored the 77 dollar year promotion. =]

Mission: Accomplished.

Wink Here we to again.....

For those who don't speak Tagalog, I will again repeat:

When you are about to expire, you will get a letter from XM telling you they are going to automatically renew you for (big bucks). Call them at the number in the letter, stop the renewal, and tell them you won't pay that much. That may end the conversation and it might not.

People whose subscription expires receive a flyer in the mail to win the former customers back to XM. They may offer you this $77 annual renewal or not. If they don't, just say no and hangup.

Then, after your subscription expires, call this phone number NOT THE ONE IN YOUR LETTER: 1-800-682-4114

"I am a former customer. My subscription expired. I received a promotional mailing for a $77 renewal and I would like to take advantage of it."

If she asks for the PROMOTION code, it is "zwinback"

She/he will also ask for your RADIO code, as that is also printed on the non-existent flyer. Have it ready from your car docs or get it from channel zero on the radio.

Those who let their subscription renew automatically will have a hard time. Don't do it unless you speak Tagalog or Punjabi.

New Promotional Flyer?

I just received a flyer from XM offering 12 months for $77. No activation fee. No activation code was given. Only radio code required. Flyer states that offer is only good for factory installed XM radios (no manufacturer specified). Offer expires 01/31/2006.

Number to call is 1-800-321-7117.

My three month trial expired in early November. Guess it pays to wait a while.

newbie here!
You need a site to host the photos/scans. There are many freebees that do this. Indeed, you ISP may provide space for you as mine does (Comcast.net).

But, I use photobucket.com. You will need to sign up - a minor pia- and then you can upload any photos that you want.

Once you do, the photos will appear in your album on line at photobucket. Under the photo will be a choice of three (3) filenames. Here, we use image tags. The file name will bracketed between [IMG] and end with [/IMG]. PB automatically does that for you. Just click on the last box under your photo and it will be "painted" so that you can up to EDIT and then click COPY.

Go back to the thread (Here), post a reply, and in the body of the message, include: [IMG] (yourscanfile) [/IMG]. You can just click EDIT>PASTE to transfer it into your message.

You can then PREVIEW MESSAGE to make sure everything is fine- continue the text body of the message, if any.

Any :noob: could do it!

RARIPPLE.. Thanks, you really are the man. Took 3min, just said i got a flyer in the mail and i'd like to renew my subscription. She asked what does it say on it, to which i replied exactly what it said on the flyer. She replied, "You're lucky, you got the good one!".. and signed me right up.

I'm happy for you, urbaita1.

I don't think I've welcomed you to Acurazine before. So let me correct that.

If you look around, you will find lots of useful information for your car. Be sure to look in all the subfora and nooks and crannies, especially the GARAGE sticky thread. Ron and rets did a great job in catagorizing that info so that you look it up by topic.

Then check the photo galleries etc as well as our main 3G TL site.

If you dare, and if you have thick skin, you can check the zoo over at Ramblings. But Do Not Feed The Animals.

Welcome.

Dave

I just called the 1-800-682-4114 # and it worked. They didnt even ask for the promotional code. All they wanted was the radio id and my name. I have an 06 and my 3 month subscription was up in 2 weeks. I told them i got a letter in the mail for $77 dollars for the year. It came to $77 even no tax.
Thanks to whoever started this thread.

very very cool! No hassles at all - he did comment that I previously had the $60 promotion on my account (which expires tomorrow), but he said he didn't care about that!

Thanks guys for saving me almost $80!!

Russ, good for you.

I didn't start the original thread but I think I've become the den mother by default.

Anyway, you show how easy it is if people would just follow the instructions and not improvise.

Thanks guys, I stuck to the script, and renewed. They told me at first that my radio was just coming off of the zwinback plan, and it was only a one time deal. I mentioned that I had a letter stateing that I could sign up for it again, and he signed me up.

Thanks again,

Kevin

Originally I got onboard with the $60 special promo. Last month I contacted them and ended up talking to several people about wanting the $77 renewal-and to bill me. They logged this into their computer and told me :"an invoice will arrive when your subscription expires". Two weeks after the exp. date the invoice shows up.State and local taxes pushed it up to $88.31 but it beats the regular $156. Still saving almost 50% makes me happy. I can, however, live without satellite if these promos dry up.

I got a different one. I called they said I could not have the 77 since I had the $60 special. So I called back another time after I saw a special on the WEB. They were saying I could get XM for $7/month. I did not know it was for just getting XM over the internet to my office. I guess they will sell it cheaper for web access (do not even need an XM radio...just stream it to your PC). Anyway the lady was all confused and came back and gave me a better deal....$77/year. I said....well OK...quick take my credit card number before you wake up. Actually you just need to get the 'not so bright ones'.

nice guys.....gonna use this to get my xm back in working order. Hell, it's been off for over a year now cause the $150+ is just asking way too much when I usually use my iPod anyway, but miss that comedy channel.

I had the promotion last year for $60.00. My subscription expires next week, I told them I got the ZWINBACK letter, and that I wanted the $77.00. I tried twice, and both times, they told me they cannot do two promos back to back. Anyone have this experience? Thanks.

I also had the promotion last year for $60. I just called 800-321-7117, told them about the $77 flyer, and it was a done deal. No problems on my first try. So I guess keep trying!
