Question on Adding Subs

I was thinking about adding two 10's in my trunk ... will the bass interfere with the DVD navi unit in the trunk? or is it safe?

I was thinking about getting two 10 inch solar barics or two 10 inch jl's about 300 watts each .. total 600 watts rms.

I'm using a JL HO110W6 which ic a 10W6 sub in a JL ported enclosure with a JL 250-1 powering it, powerful bass and no ill affects on the Navi unit.

I was thinking (first time for everything) about replacing my sub. And boxing it in. Anyone used the Earthquake SWS8 shallow sub? Of course a new amp + wire + speakers all around......

A bit off topic, but just wondering if there is supposed to be any vocal through the subs? I only ask because I've used my factory sub wiring to get signal for the new subs. I only get the base and no vocal.
Please don't flame! I'm new to this aftermarket stereo stuff.

05TLTony,

A true subwoofer should only operate from 20 HZ to about 110 HZ or below. Below 110 HZ our ears can not locate where the sound is coming from. Vocal or Midrange is from 350 HZ to about 3500 HZ.

This is how I decided to do the subs in my car. Just follow the link to the thread.

Sub Box Thread

I only did two 8s for now. But plan on changing it to one 12.
