When I bought the TL, I knew I was going to be married to that head unit with the two big knobs. Why not add the DVD navigation system with touch screen now that you have all that extra room? I'm sure someone offers a good iPod aftermarket solution so you can see the ID3 tags of the songs you're playing.

Thanks for sharing!

what i meant to say was im not really digging the aftermarket headunit with the missing knobs.....i think it would look a lot better if u had some custom pieces made to fill in there or filled in the extra blank spaces......

props to u for being different though...

I agree, it's a clean install and I'm glad you like it but I wish someone would come up with a metal trim kit that does away with the knob cutouts. Those that want to replace their radios are left with the knob cutouts. Maybe you can talk to your installer about doing some sort of facing that cover up the cutouts or filling them in.

Did you consider something like this:

http://www.kenwoodusa.com/products/ListProduct.aspx?k1=2&k2=25&k3=81&pr=2138

or this

http://www.eclipse-web.com/avn5495-index.html

These are double DIN receivers that would look sick in that spot.

Did you replace the rest of the speakers?

I assume you no longer have 5.1 DVD Audio and Bluetooth phone capability.

It rattles quite a bit when u put on the rite song but it's far enough back u don't hear it much, but standing outside close to the trunk is another story. I haven't dynomated the trunk yet but did the doors and the rear speakers when i relpaced them. The quality of sound the focals give is just sick with the rite amount of power. I don't want to spend anymore $$ on the stereo 4 now.

I don't mean to burst your bubble but i think this head unit would look better than the avic. the black and blue will match better w/ the TL's interior

I also suggest you fill the half circle (trim piece) with something similar. then it will look CLEAN !

Steering Wheel Controls?

Did you lose use of your steering wheel controls or retain them?

I lost it for now but soon to have it intergraded at the same time as the rear back up camera installed. Quote was 500$ canadian installed.

This install job was as basic as it gets........The stereo was the very first upgrade that was done cause the stock system sucks, no offence to anyone.

I heard that taking the stock radio out will make the car wont start? is this true or the installation guy don't know jack. Can i ask why you chose N2 over the D1 ,would the AVIC D1 fit in the pocket without cutting the 2 silver trim on the side?
