My wife’s 2004 TL navigation DVD Player broke. I purchased a replacement Navigation DVD Player unit from a local auto dismantler for the same year. When installed, it asks for the four-digit navigation code. I don't have it and can't find it in the dismantled car or paperwork.

I have the Serial Number and pictures of the used Navigiation DVD unit. How do I get the four-digit code for this used DVD Navi Unit?

I retrieved this from the wrecking yard months ago and only got around to installing it this weekend. The vehicle is no longer there. I'm stuck. Are there any other options to get the code, or am I out of luck?

I am in Canada and have a 2012 Acura MDX - the battery went dead and I had to get a jump.....since then, the radio is in lock mode....(No Nav system of my vehicle).

either the disc is bad (not as likely)

or the unit is (much more likely)

 

My apologies for the late response. It is possible your navigation unit is going bad.

Your code should be 9547 though.

I am still geting the Please Check Your Disc message. Going to another auto salvage yard this weekend to find another unit.
If I can't find one, do you have any suggestions for reman units that are cost effective?

Sending the unit to Alpine to have them remanufacture would be the next step although costly. I would try to hold out and keep looking a good used unit. I will keep checking back occasionally incase you need another code.

 

Can you help me with a security code? I just purchased a 2004 MDX from an auction and I keep getting the "please check disc" message on the navigation screen. I removed the DVD-ROM and tried cleaning it the best I could inside without tearing it apart too much, but I am still getting the message on screen. I found a DVD on ebay but the guy says he does not have the code but the unit was working when removed. Here is the serial number: EDB22041679B
