navi swap 2004 to 2006 dvd rom
own a 2004 acura tl sp edition navi unit is broken so just put it off for till i can get a new dvd rom and navi disk but a hommie of mine got a used commuter car (96 accord)that had a dvd rom unit just thrown in the back of the trunk so i took a look at it and it looked in prestine working condition . i checked the back and it looked like all the connections were the same connections that my old unit had so i swapped it out with mine and low and behold the navi screen says acura link navigation wow it works and it had a white navi disk so my problem is it says to enter code ?? so how should i go about obtianing this code if i dont know the vin number to the car this came from i have the serial number for the rom but no vin number from which this unit came from ??? any thoughts would be greatly app.

Isn't the code just for the nav unit and not tied to the DVD ROM unit?

yeah i entered the vin number for my car and the serial number and got the code so its working and its using a white navi disk
