Question My Peeps can't hear me!

I've had my bt phone connected for about a year with no problems. Within the last couple of months, anyone that calls me can barely hear me..they say it sounds like I'm in a wind tunnel or my windows are open. I always have the windows shut and even have new tires. Any ideas on how to fix this?? I don't think it's the phone since it connects fine. Could it be the radio volume..does this have any effect?? Help! please

Do you have the fan on in the car with the AC running or the Heat. It may be possible that the vent is blowing in the direction of the mic.

That is possible, but like today, I had the auto on, but it wasn't blowing hard at all..but maybe it amplifies...anyone else notice this?

Ya.. even if the fan is on low it interfere's with stuff. I notice the voice commands give a lot of probs when the fan is even on low. I usually just turn it off or at least point the vents in the center down as the mic is in the middle.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I've only had mine for about a month, but I've noticed the same thing. I'll try redirecting the vents and try to see how that works. I really don't want to go back to the bluetooth headset if I have HFL in the car.

Not to be a killjoy, but the other possibility is that the HFL has gone bad and will need to be replaced (not uncommon; this has occurred with several members who have had bad call quality). Replacement is through warranty if your car is still under warranty.

Hey Will Y. Any idea how long these things take to "go bad"? My ride is only about a month old.

You could also try to delete the phone from the system and re-pair it. Rebooting the phone (turn the phone off and then on) is a possible solution as well.

Most of the other posters here who had HFL units replaced had bad mics/call quality from day 1; a few went bad along the way (most of which were due to HFL system lock-up or inability to connect to a phone rather than bad mic).

Last week or two people have said the same thing about my HFL. I had it replaced about a year ago since the original one NEVER worked. I just assumed it was crap and/or it couldn't understand my NY accent. The replacement unit worked tons better. I have an 04 TL.

If my AC fan is off it works ok. Seems not be as good as it used to be. With the AC fan on even on low I have to yell.

Great idea poorly implemented. Perhaps they will get it right on the 4G TL. Sometimes it works great. Most of the time it works ok. Sometimes I want to smash it.

I'm bringing my car in next week for some work the deal fucked up..I'll have them check out the bluetooth also..I think I'll also try to re-pair it....if you delete and repair, do you have to reprogram all the voice commands again (enter the phone numbers)?

Deleting the phone and re-pairing it with the system will not erase the saved numbers.
