Wink LOL @ Handsfreelink

I've stored a bunch of numbers in my handsfreelink and every once in a while it messes up, such as:

Yesterday I said "call" and it said "who would you like to call" and I said "Chris" ... then it says "dialing 2 8 0 4" LOL wtf. Then I said again call Chris and it said "dialing 0 2 5". Only on the third time did it work correctly... obviously there is something fked up with it but it works most of the time correctly and i dont mind this happening cus it's quite entertaining. Anyone else ever had this happen to them?

When mine does that I say "Dial" instead of "Call" and it works better sometimes.
I changed the voice from male to female once and the HFL went really crazy. It
figures.....so I changed it back.

Haven't had that problem but mine just started liking the number 8. Whenever I dial or program a new number, it sticks an 8 in whenever it feels like it.

Err, my HFL NEVER understands me. So yeah, I'm sitting in traffic screaming, turning red all because I'm trying to call someone. Hmm, maybe I have some anger management issues. STUPID HFL.

NO!! G'Dammit!!! "HOME F'N PHONE" YOU IGNORANT PEICE OF CRAP!!! WHY THE F*(& WOULD I CALL 000?!?!?!

So I finally changed the name tag from "Home Phone" to "Coconut" (our dog's name) and it has worked perfectly ever since.

Smile Try talking quickly at a normal volume...

The HFL on my car works best (and on the first try) when I speak quickly and at a normal volume as if I'm talking to a passenger-- made at least 4 calls reading numbers in the last two days, and a number of calls from the phonebook that do not have the opportunity to screw up spoken numbers, all of which went through the 1st time.

The HFL does NOT work if I enunciate s-l-o-w-l-y or yell at the mic, at which point the HFL starts dropping in 1s, 8s and 0s everywhere.

My problem is that whenever I "Call Christina" it wants me to say "Dial" or "Call" after that. Whatever I say its always corrects me, and then calls. Why do I have two options if you are going to repeat the one you really wanted me to say.

I don't have a problem with the phone except I sound stupid when it repeats my recorded commands but the voice commands dont work.

However, I cant change the temperature with the voice commands. "Passenger, (Christina) Max Cold" but it decreases my side or both side.

mine ws horrible because it was an 04 so I needed to upgrade so I went with kenwood hands free instead of getting the new hfl unit. works better for me because I like an interface instead of voice prompts

Same here. Mine doesn't understand my English better than French! LOL
When I speak slowly, it gets the names right 90% of the time.

A lot of times I tilt my head up toward the map lights (where the mic is) and it works better, but I hate doing that. Here are a couple of things that make it more difficult to get it to work right. You may add if you have others:

1) sunroof
2) window open
3) fan on higher than 2 bars (check if on auto)
4) radar detector beeping

as an aside, does anyone know what speakers the HFL uses? To me it does not sound like all the speakers are used, just the front ones when HFL is engaged. Is this one reason why it might not sound the loudest when in a phone call (other than the window being open :-)

There goes the solution to your problem. I had that same problem shouting in the car saying WTF you dont hear me and it would say "please repeat" lol...it is a funny system though. It gets every name and number incorrect. I had to speak normal but very fast and it works fine which is very wierd
