iPod or Mp3 through Bluetooth?

Does anybody know if its possible to configure an iPod, mp3 player, or laptop to connect with the car via bluetooth? That would really make things a lot easier...

I've seen bluetooth headphone adapters out there. There is a little 'box' that plugs into your stereo device and converts the stereo signals into the bluetooth radio. Then a bluetooth headset can 'connect' to it.

I tried this to listen to PC music on the wireless headphones. They sounded awful. I've never tried to go in the opposite direction (so to speak), sending music to my BT enabled laptop. Never needed to.

IIRC, the BT chip is set up to provide the type of protocol used in the communication. Something like this might work since it would look like a phone, but it would only be mono and sound like crap.

Bluetooth EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) or BT 2.0 or what have you has an audio profile that supports stereo audio.

Well, that doesn't benefit us because "handsfree" is the only bluetooth profile supported by our vehicle.

Bummer...

And because of this, you will never have a manufacturer make a product that will directly interface with our vehicles bluetooth system. Why? Well, as weedeater put it, "it would only be mono and sound like crap."

As far as connecting laptops, you CAN, and I have (just for fun, not that I expected it to be anything worthwhile), but it's utterly pointless :P Basically, the car just acts like a headset for the laptop.. great if you're using VoIP over EVDO or something.. I guess.
