HFL Phone connecting problem

I set up my phone with my TL the other day, and when i pair my phone with the car again later, do i have to use the system option --> Pair --> 4 digits code again? Is there a command that just connect to my phone without reentering the 4 digits number since i believe my phone is named already? thanks for the info guys. I am new here.

that code pairing thing should be a one-time deal. Did your phone not store the code? That is what I would consider first.

If your car is not recalling a paired phone, then that is kind of a problem. Did you read the owners manual? (RTFM!)

The phone should be detected and pair automatically without using the 4-digit code as long as you are not using the same name for 2 or more phones.

Welcome to AZ too!

What year is your TL? The 04's were known to have HFL problems after a while. I had this same thing happen to me. The dealer replaced the module under warranty and no more problems. I'd check it out especially if the warranty is still in effect.

None- if the bluetooth is active on any compatible phone I paired, the HFL connects automatically as soon as the ignition switch is turned to the accessory position.

Do you have a phone that is listed as compatible with the 2005 HFL in the HFL mini-site through Acura.com?

This is confusing everyone: after you pair it, you NEVER pair it again. You just get in the proximity of your car (like 20 feet away) and it will pair to the car if the car is on. So unless you are turning off bluetooth on your phone, you shouldn't have to do anything. And if you are turning bluetooth off and on for your phone, you shouldn't have to re-pair your phone with the car. Your car will connect to your phone automatically.

The list of compatible phones is located on a sticky for pairing phones. Sift through that.

If you leave your BT on your phone on, the phone should connect with the car automatically. What kind of phone do you have?

See http://www.acura.com/index.aspx?init...hHandsFreeLink.

However, if your phone is not sold in the US and not listed in the site above, it either has not been tested or is not compatible with the TL's HFL system.
