HEAD UNIT REMOVAL 07tl

i've scoured the forums. i even found the manual picture of removing this piece:
pg 20-83 https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=90964

it's the piece right above the navi screen anyone have pictures on how they removed it? any extra tools required?

I didnt have the HEART to do it yet, I spoke with people who already did it and they say its A REAL PITA......no kiding. I tried with a cloth hanger but didnt succeed. I'll probably go to an acura dealer and ask for a VENT PULLER like they suggest in the manual.

If you succeed PM me on how you did it...

Good luck!

no tools are needed, just grab the corner with your fngers, and pull. the most that will happen is you'll lose a clip or 2 behind the dash, but that happens with out without the tool

at the bottom of the unit, you will see the 2 channels where the silver stips used to be, put a flat screw driver up there and pry up.

FYI: You can add your amp and subs without removing the head unit!

Why are you doing it this way? Are you adding something a little more dramatic?

i took everything off using just basic tools. screwdriver and a little flat piece for removing panels. i know some of the manuals show that you have to use a hooked metal rod thing. didnt need it. just yanked and pryed. i didnt break any clips i did this trying to install my sub and amp... and yes i learned the hard way i didnt need to remove my head unit. just ended up tapping in through trunk
