I was wondering cuz i remember the salesman at the dealer told me i can get it done at bestbuy? You guys have it?

 

It's in the Audio menu on the navigation system.

 

I currently own a 2005 TL - non navi. Recently, a lady ran a red light and t-boned me on the drivers door, near the hinges - bad enough that there is frame damage - the A pillar had to be cut out and replaced.

I am anticipating trading it in on a 2007 TL - also non navi. Does the 2007 non navi also have the pro-logic surround sound?

Just checked the manual; yes, there is a way to turn it on in the non-Navi as well. Just not familiar w/ the stereo setup for those...

 

We're only talking about the 07-08 TLs, right?

Honestly I do not like the feature at all. It just sounds over processed to my ears, but to each there own.

 

Thanks, PeterTheFish for checking the manual for me. I'm not sure I would even use the feature, but it's nice to know it is there just to experiment with. My understanding is that the surround effect is highly dependent upon the source material.

Totally agree. Especially for anyone sitting in the rear, it seems to sound even worse back there. But, like you said, to each their own.

As for how it works, the simple answer is that it tries to take your stereo (2 channel) music and make it into Dolby 5.1 "surround".
