Has anybody else had this problem w/ hooking up subs on an 07

I went to get a sub installed on my 07 type s, and they told me that I shouldnt. They said they did this on a previous 07 model, and since the nav system is always sending signals to the speakers to offset unwanted noises, it makes the sub constantly hum.

Has anyone succesfully installed a sub in an 07 tl w/o this problem?

easy fix that applies to 07type-s only!! You'll need to disable the active noise control by unpluging the wires to the mics. both are located inside the dome light clusters up front and in the back. Takes 15min to clean bass. i have a 07 types is with 2 12"s and no feedback

You'll have to remove the rear light asembly by removing the the light cover in the rear by popping off the lenses and unscrewing to Philips screws. Behind the light you will find a green plug. Unplug it by pressing the clip on top. Reinstall and enjoy clean bass

In the front just remove the dome light assembly and and unplug the small white clip located on the left side. Reinstall and you're good to go. Holla if you needed additional help. Were talking 15 minutes between two lights and its a wrap!

I have a 2005 Acura RL and am wanting to put my subs and amp from my old car into the RL and have been told the same thing, that by adding the sub and amp I will likely have the feedback in the sub because of the active noise compensation the factory system has. I have also been told by other people that it wont really be a problem unless you replace the factory amp and/or door speakers and all. Right now I am stuck trying to figure out who is right before I go ahead and put them in my car.

I cant seem to find many topics or places that mention the RL and subs, does anyone know the truth to this?

Also if you disconnect the mics for the noise canceling do you loose your hands free capabilities or does the car have a different mic for that?

-Sorry for hyjackin the TL thread with my RL question

Nocturnal: use a flat head to loosen the sunroof switch. then reach in and apply gentle pressure down while using the flat head to loosen around edges.

Sargeant:there are 3 mics in the car..2 ANC and 1 voice recognition. The ANC in the TL is a carryover from the RL. both answers are right. if you gut your factory system and rewire you won't have feedback. however if you choose to add a sub you must disable the ANC via unpluggin the mics

Tried to remove mics and it didn't work

I have the same problem everyone else if having installing subs in my 07-Type S. I tried disconnecting the mics and it created a new problem. Before there was feedback only with the doors shut but now it has more feedback no matter the doors open or closed. Anyone have any help???

The first thing I want to do with my '07 TL-S is replace the sub. After reading this, I'm disheartened that it won't be as simple as finding a good open-air sub..
What problems are you having, and have you corrected them? It's been month since this thread was updated..

thanks!
