Is there a firmware update for my 2006 TL CD/DVD player? Car has no Navi feature.
Some DVD-A discs report "FORMAT" error and eject from the player.

 

Nope. Dvd-a must be messed up. Did you made those discs?

 

peter6, the DVD-A discs are factory-sealed Genesis box set, not home made.
There may be some problem in that they contain video mixed with audio.
Discs play OK using Kodi on my laptop

 

I had the same problem trying to play a Pink Flord dvd-a disc. It had video and would not be read.

Thanks for your feedback. Just wondered, what vintage is your TL? I'm not getting anywhere with notes to Panasonic and Acura about this.
I'm sure there's a firmware fix, but nobody seems to want to bother. I'm going to take a Genesis DVD-A disc to a dealer and run it on a new
TLX, just to prove a point. If it works, then I'm right. If not, guess I'll need to continue with other working discs.
