DST - Time Change

Well, today is the time change and my 04 TL didn't change the time. Anyone know why?

because the governent CHANGED the date of the time switches a couple of years ago, so its not in the cars program for the new date. Just reset manually.
It will be off a week in the fall too.
dont have a manual??- here you go! click year then model

If you have the most up-to-date Navi disc the fix might be on there.

I know it is on V4.62 for the 2007's and 2008's.

Hmm, mine didn't change either in my 2005 TL and I supposedly have the most up-to-date Navi disc version, V3.70. According to the acuranavi web site:

3.70 New Features
Updated maps and POIs
Auto Daylight Savings Time switching per new 2007 (March/November) schedule

Anyone else seeing this?

Me too. I have a 2006 TL. I purchased the newest Nav disc Version 3.70 in Dec 2007. It is suppose to have the new DST auto update March/November. My clock didn't update to DST today. Guess I'll have to call Acura or Alpine to find out why this didn't work. Anyone else have navigation disc Ver. 3.70 and have the DST update problem?

Did you have the SetUp --> Clock Settings on <AUTO> for DST?? Check that first.

If not:

Very simple fix. Bring your Nav up and press "Setup". Select the number 4 option at the top of the screen. Select the DST/Time Zone option bar then press the "+" option for the Hour. Now just press Return until you are back home.

Won't work for '04s and '05s with the OEM DVDs. You have to manually select the hour change now.

Yes I have the clock set on AUTO for DST and have set time manually in SETUP option 4. My Ver. 3.50 worked this way to set DST. According to Acura nav site Ver.3.70 is suppose to auto set DST on new Mar/Nov dates.

I too have the clock set for AUTO for DST. Before the dates changed, I never had to change it manually. It sounded like V3.70 had the new dates programmed in, but it doesn't appear that way.

I have a 2006 TL and upgraded from v3.60 (April/October DST schedule) to v3.70 (March/November DST schedule) navi disc before March. The DST option in my car was set to AUTO way before today's DST time change. I even pressed the "reset" button on the page 4 DST setup options to reset any unintended changes to factory default in anticipation of today's DST change. Well, my TL's clock did not change to DST today either.

I think Acura and Alpine have some explaining to do. I'm calling them first thing in the morning. I called today but they only had a sales guy on duty today. He said to call them tomorrow for tech support. BTW, I asked if others had called in with this problem, he said I was the third one to call today with the DST update issue.

Thumbs down Me too

I ordered the V3.70 DVD last month and the DST time change is not working for me either. I contacted the number at acuranavi.com ((888) 549-3798) and spoke to someone there (they actually answered the phone on Sunday evening) who said that the DVD can only be returned within 30 days and we must have the paperwork. Not only that, we have to pay shipping charges.

I was considering sending it back anyway because there is a major road in my area that was completed 2 years ago that is missing from the DVD, but this clinches it. Good luck to those who bought 3.70 more than 30 days ago.

Just realized something, why should we need to send it back? They're just going to throw it away anyway.....

Well that sucks! Especially where they listed the DST fix as part of the update. I agree with you, Aline/Acura should explain what happened to the fix.

Regarding 30-day returns, thats too, IMHO. They sold you an update that does not function the way they promised. It's not your fault that the DST change was more than 30-days after purchase.

BTW - I was only suggesting you double check the <AUTO> setting, just in case .... .

Same problem here. Everything is set to auto and I bought the new disk a few months back. Hopefully Alpine\Acura will have an explanation for this!

After that mix-up last year, I just change mine manually. No big deal since it's only twice a year and there are plenty of notices to do it so you won't forget.

Whilst I don't regard having to change it manually as being a big deal or a problem, it did irk me a bit that the 3.70 update was advertised as having the patch but turned out not to have it. Simple enough to change it when I was stopped at a red light, though.

In my case, there are a lot of new roads near my house, so the DST thing was a minor part of why I got the update. Quite nice that it no longer lays down a ton of breadcrumbs half a mile from home. But it does seem that people who ordered because of the DST patch have a legitimate beef. Too bad you won't get anywhere unless you attempt a class action!

Guys, my '07 TL Type S has the 4.55 disc in it and mine didn't change either. the new 4.62 disc isn't available to TL owners yet. Only dealers can get it to replace old discs in current '08's on the lot right now. The 4.62 disc is supposed to be available to TL owners hopefully by the end of this month.

I called Acura Customer Service this morning at (800) 382-2238. They informed me that the DST patch is in the final stages of testing and should be at the dealerships by next month. He explained that it will be a "patch DVD" that they will insert to patch the Navi system, then replace your original DVD. He apologized for the confusion on the web site about having updated DST code on the navi DVD.

If this is the truth then that's pretty bad. They advertised pretty heavily about upgrading. They even sent out postcards in the mail and had a price drop for a few months. They did say in all of these annoucements and on the website that the DST fix was included on the 3.70 update. Sounds like a serious case of false advertising or they're just trying now to cover for a major bug.

Actually, it's 4 times a year. If you set the time forward by one hour now, it will go forward ANOTHER hour when the OLD DST date arrives. It will also set the time back an hour a couple weeks before DST actually ends, so you'll have to set it back manually, then change it again on the actual date.

I set mine manually too, but it irks me because one of the reasons I bought the new DVD was for this fix.

BTW... I also called, and was pretty much told that they have no information, and that Acura would need to figure out what happened, and that it was THEIR responsibility. Great customer service if you ask me... Advertise that your product contains something, and when it's shown that it doesn't, simply blame someone else, and dismiss the isssue.

....
Not if you tell it not to update for DST automatically. You'll find that on screen 4 of the settings. Tell it not to update automatically for DST, then change the time by one hour, and you're set until November 2, when you need to go back to that screen and change the time back by one hour.

It is interesting that the DST update has been pulled from the Acura Nav website. I called Acura and Alpine today. They didn't have an explanation for the problem. I talked to Acura tech support and they couldn't figure it out either. They sent my problem to a different department in customer service. They should contact me with a solution or contact my dealer to reset my Nav sysyem to use my old disc ver 5.50. Dealer wants $89.00 to reset nav system. I'm asking Acura to pickup the charges since they created the problem. Alpine said I could return the ver 3.70 disc for a refund even if I'm past the 30 day return period. I just have to provide proof of purchase. Alpine said that they just make the discs and Acura provides the software contained in the disc.

Wow, what a great solution. I dont want to go to an old disk, I paid for an updated disk that included the DST fix and that is exactly what I should have received. Send me an updated Nav disk that contains the updates promised.

Ditto on the 3.70 here too. I didn't drive my car at all on Sunday, and I must have been really tired this morning when I was driving to work because I didn't even notice my time was off. When I left work, and was a couple blocks away driving home I glanced at the clock and my first thought was "Oh crap, did I leave work and hour early?" I then looked at my worked and then got mad because the new disc was advertised to fix DST. Alpine this is BS!!!!

Hi All

I'm from the TSX board and brought up the same issue, but no one really replied.

I have an 04 for which I upgraded to the 08 ver 3.7 disc. Unfortunately, like you all - no DST change yesterday. I posted to check to see if I missed anything, but I guess not.

I'll be calling Alpine tomorrow to see if I can get a refund, the maps weren't all that new in my area either.

Bummer.

Cool...so I get the "fix" without forking out dough for the 3.70!

Logged my Complaint with Acura

I called Alpine to complian about the false advertising of the DST update on V 3.70 that I ordered in February. I am told that it is Acura's decision as to what goes on the DVD website and although the maps are NaviTech, the patches are decided by Acura. The Alpine operator told me I was the 4th to call today about this issue.

They gave me the number for Acura 800-382-2238 which I called and logged my complaint. I asked that the operator log it and give me a case number which he did.

I suggest other call this 800 number and og their complaints as well.

I just called Alpine about this. The gal explained to me that the DST fix only applies to 04/07 - 10/07 and for 2008 I need to manually adjust the time. I asked her why they'd put that fix on a disc that comes out after the affected time period. All she could say was, "Good question."

She said I could send the disc back if I want to get a refund.

I had my local dealership reset my navigation sysyem today. I am now running my old ver 3.50 disc. Acura Client Services paid for the work after I complained. I sent the ver 3.70 disc back to Alpine for a refund. I think all of us who didn't get what they paid for with ver 3.70 should make Acura reset their navigation systems and send the discs back for refunds. Maybe then Acura will be a bit more careful with what they say their update discs can do on their navigation website.

Ok, I just called Acura and they totally passed the buck to Alpine. Acura said they had no responsibility for the software.
