DICE R-3 installed in 05 TL non-nav, sub question
I just got my dice r-3 in the mail yesterday, got it on ebay for $144 and I absolutely love it. I was skeptical at first cause Ive never used an Ipod adapter like this before, but Im glad I bought it- its definitely my favorite mod Ive done so far. It took me a little while to get it set up correctly, but now that im used to it its really easy to use. I just leave the Ipod in my center console and all the controls on the radio work for everything. I would recommend this to anyone who wants an Ipod adapter. The text display is great, I can use the steering wheel buttons, I can scroll through my playlists, and the sound is crystal clear and loud. Ill put some pics up of the text display, because when I was researching what to get I couldnt find any pics of the non-nav displays...
While Im in here I do have one question about my subwoofer setup-- I have a Kenwood 500W amp and a JBL 10" sub and its no where near as loud as it should be. I think it has something to do with my line output converter. I have it hooked up to the speaker wires going to the right rear deck speaker. It says its best to splice it into two speakers, but I couldnt get to the other speaker wires cause I did it behind the rear seat.
What I wanna know is should I disconnect the factory sub and splice it into those wires, or just splice it into the other rear speaker as well as the one that already hooked up??? Its weird cause its loud sometimes, but you can barely hear it at other times...
Thanks

Go with the factory sub wires. The rear fill is most likely crossed over and that's why you hear it sometimes and not all the time. It cuts out after a certain frequency - most likely the lower 80hz and below (but I'm not sure what the cutoff is). Hope that helps. I did the same thing over the weekend and it works great.
