yeah, i saw his, talked to him... i was just wondering if i could get any more input from anyone else... (he didnt really tell me much...) but i did gather a bunch of info from his posts
First, you must know what form factor you want. A lot of carputers out there uses the VIA processor using the mini-ITX form factor. This form factor enables you to use lower voltage (12V mostly) as the input and small enough so that you can flush mount it easier. Another possible solution is to use laptop or Shuttle-X style PC.
Second consideration that you might want to make is OS. Find an OS that has support for this specific design. There are some interfaces that will work with Linux and Windows. Linux are generally faster, but Windows are generally has more software available.
Third consideration is user input. Do you want it to be touch screen, Wireless KB & Mouse, or standard wired input? There are many different input source out there including a very small gesture mouse/keyboard (check thinkgeek.com - note: I'm not affiliated with this site).
Fourth, what ability you want to add into the carputer? MP3 playback, GPS, Wi-Fi?
