BT45-ACU Installation problems

Hi, so this is the second module i purchase and i am again facing the same problem. I have an Acura TL 2007 with Navigation.
When i try to plug the BT45-ACU cable into the XM tuner in my trunk, i realize that the cable is not the same and would not fit into my XM receiver. Here's some pics to explain:
This is the XM reciever i am trying to plug into. It is located in the trunk on the right side slightly above the DVD
this is the input that goes into the XM receiver unit, notice the two mid seperatiors
this is the cable that i pulled out from the XM receiver
and finally this is the cable i got with the BT45-ACU... as you can there's not grooves for the two separators...

So i am very confused... I did try to look up different cables online for this unit, and i was shocked to find that the BT45-HON3 module comes with the same looking cable as the one i would need... but the HON3 is for none Navigation TLs...
Cable from BT45-Hon3 for Acura TL with out navigation.

So im lost... and im dying to install this thing.

LEt me know your thoughts! thanks and sorry for the oversized pictures!

Delray shows the part# for the xm unit as 39820-SEP-A23. Google didn't come up with anything for either of the part#s on your unit. (Canada specific #s possibly?) Maybe fire off an email to USAspec and/or Pioneer and see what they say.
Curious to see what comes of it. Been considering one of these and it sucks when a direct fit plug and play thing isn't.

The only difference between Acu and Hon3 unit is that Acu retain factory navigation trafficlive update via XM where the Hon3 does not retain this feature. Hon3 come with an extra harness that can be plug in the back of the radio (you will loose XM totally). You need to order the extra harness in the above pic.

Sorry to bring this old thread back to life, but I'm running into this same issue. I've got an 08 type s, and bought the BT45-ACU and my xm unit looks like OP's. I thought that all type-s' have live traffic.

Does that mean my XM unit was pulled from a non-live traffic tl, and I would have to purchase the bt45-hon3 wire harness?

Canadian TL does not have live traffic update for some reason, you will have to buy HON3 unit instead.

Bumping this thread for a question for other people. I left the car at a shop to get some work done. They replaced the battery and now it's totally dead. If I disconnect the HON3 and hook up the XM it works just fine that way.

All of the other electronics in the car are totally fine. This thing is just dead now, won't play anything. If I click the XM button with it hooked up it does NOTHING and if I click go to the MAP, MENU, and CANCEL menu it now shows red for the XM.

Anyone have any ideas?

Something similar just happened to me. I drove for 30 minutes the bt45 unit worked fine with Spotify. I got out of the car for maybe 15 minutes, got back in and my car was dead.

After calling around to see if anyone had jumper cables on them, I cranked the engine just to check and the car started back up. Started driving back home kind of scared the car would die in the middle of the road, but Bt45 still worked, however the radio/navigation would reboot multiple times intermittently on the drive home.

Once I got home, took out the keys and put it in again to test, and all the dome lights and dash lights would flicker, cranked the engine it'd turn on, but now the unit won't play any music. The info will show up on the screen, but music won't play. It just says paused. I got tired of playing around with it in the dark, so have it unplugged for now.

DUH ..........

The HON3 unit is for '04/5/6 and Canadian delivered models, the ACU unit is for '07/8, Didn't you see that before you ordered?

This is where Ralph Kramden would go BANG ZOOM.

I think it's any Canadian 3g tl regardless of year would get the Hon3.

get battery and alternator tested, those are signs of it being faulty or loose battery connections.
