Hey bud,

If you tap into the same wires, you'll be reducing the load (yes, reducing) on the amp. Look at the bottom of the factory sub to see what ohms it is. All the other speakers on my TL were 2 ohm.

To answer your question, I believe you can tap into the sub signal.

The formula to figure out the load on the circuit for parallel load is:

Rl : total load
R1: speaker 1
R2: speaker 2

1/Rl = 1/R1 + 1/R2

If the factory sub is 2 ohm and the kicker is 4 ohm, then the total load would be 1.3333 Ohms.

Please keep me posted on your progress.

Any power issues Stew? How big are the amps you are running? Did you replace the battery or get a capacitor?

Arg! I don't get it. I hooked up an Alpine MRP-F600 (100W x 4), and another small 100 watt amp to power the subwoofer. When I run them at a demanding volume, they both turn off and the voltage drops. Power leads are good, grounds are good, so I am thinking it must be the battery. I just bought my 08, but I think it has been sitting on the lot for a year or so. Other than replace the battery, I don't know what to do at this point other than downgrade my amps.

I still am trying to figure out how to replace my stock navi unit with the kenwood that stew has. i want to upgrade the head unit because i know it wont provide the sound quality i need for all the upgrades for the speakers and the subs. doesnt seem like there is an easy way to go about it though.
