3GTL/2GRL Bluetooth Phones Compatibility...

The Samsung SCH-U740 works with basic functionality with the '07 HFL. No battery signal, no antenna bars, and no phonebook import. Dialing and answering work without a problem. Transferring between phone and HFL works like a charm as well.

What year is your car? I'm considering that phone and will be picking up a 2007 TL, hoping to have the same experience!
2007 TL-S:
I have the LG VX8600 (Chocolate flip) - signal bars are present, battery indicator is present, and it pairs perfectly each time I enter the car. No PB transfer, though.
So, for porkipine, that would be:
LG VX8600 07 O O - O
I'm guessing that the VX8500 (Chocolate) would be the exact same as the GUI is the same as the 8600.

Verizon Chocolate
I have model LG UX8500 (sliding chocolate) and
everything works fine in my 2004 (traded-in) and
2007 TL-S except the function that allows the phonebook
to be downloaded into the HFL computer.
I'm waiting for my contract to end, so I can get one of the
Sony-Ericsson models that has 100% functionality compatible with
ACURA.

Samsung a840 - thumbs down
Got the Samsung a840 from Verizon and had a very difficult time pairing it. For like 8 times, I got to the last step of finalizing the pair, and the connection dropped. After my relentless persistance, I finally got it but in addition to no battery/signal on the dash, the HFL connection drops intermittently while I'm on a call. Major disappointment and not recommended.

I have a Sprint 6700 that constantly drops the TL's bluetooth speakerphone. After some research, a found a patch. The problem has been traced to a bug in the bluetooth software which sometimes shuts the bluetooth radio off when power saving features are enabled.
If you have this issue, try plugging your phone into a car charger and then disabling the "On External Power...Turn off Device if not used for" in the Power control panel.
Also, check out this link for another option:

Nokia 8800 Sirocco works fine, but it won't show Signal bar and when you call someone from your phone, it transfer the voice to the phone instead of the speaker..but when someone calls u, u can answer it with the car and the sound will be on the speaker.
SE M600i
Hi Everyone,
Request for you... I am about to order up two Sony Ericsson M600i phones, one for me and one for pinky, both acura TL (05) drivers. What's the current status of these phones with HFL? I saw one post saying it works and one that it doesn't work. If you have the phone please also post what firmware if you know it.
Please advise.

iPhone works great
New iPhone works flawlessly with the TL HFL. Battery and Signal strength both meters show and was paired to HLF very fast unlike all other phones I've used in the TL. Trasfer function works great too. Call quality is crisp and clear inbound and outbound both.
I just finished going through this thread because I had a little trouble with my phones. I have an 07' TSX and my phones are a Treo 750W and the sony w800i. My Treo 750w will work about half the time but then sometimes will not pick up in the car. Of course I didn't know about the jet software to upgrade the bluetooth. I think the issue is common with the windows pocket pc phones though, the whole dropping the call thing. My Sony however, will always pickup the first call in the car but the rest will go straight to the phone. But before happening on this thread, I didn't know the transfer command. I haven't really read through all the manual for the car yet so I don't know most of the commands yet. However the sony does work with the signal/batt meters...
But, thanks to this thread I've found a few more phones that I might try just for the sake of finding a stable one. Since I have GSM service, I am limited to what I can try but I'm gonna try the motorola RIZR since it's compatible with everything just like my sony but hopefully it works better in picking up calls....

Anyone else have an LG AX245? It's listed as an approved phone on the HFL site but it doesn't work very well. I get a terrible echo and it sounds like the person you're talking to is studdering. I have 04 TL and I asked the dealer to diagnose. They replaced the microphone but not the HFL unit. It it my HFL unit or just the phone?
Pearl 8100 & 07 TL-S Address Book Transfer Works!
Today I was some how able to get my BB Pearl 8100 to transfer the phone book to my 07 TL-S. I have Cingular/ATT service. I'm not sure the exact steps. I kept messing with it, and suddenly it started to import contacts. I know people have had little luck getting this to work in the past, and I can only attribute it to upgrading the 8100 to the latest firmware. When I have some time I'm going to try and nail down the exact steps, but at least I know it can be done.

Thanks in advance.
I'm looking for a new phone and one of my main criteria is to have a phone that is fully compatible with my TL as possible.
The best site I've found to determine compatibility is

I am not sure if this was said before, I have a 07 TL type S, and the Sony Ericsson W810 is fully compatible with the TL. I get all my numbers on the screen, signal, etc. This is the only phone that works with the TL FULLY! To look at all the other phones, www.handsfreelink.com will tell you what you need. If this was said already, my bad, but just incase it doesnt, I hope This will help some people out. PHONE IS GREAT TOO!

For folks with the T-Mo BlackBerry Pearl, T-Mobile finally posted a new firmware update .103 which does resolve the flaky Bluetooth connectivity in the TL. Now I've got rock solid connection and no longer experiencing delays when answering a call on my Pearl. Recommended.
