2005 non-Nav, How to add Bluetooth?

Hey everyone, quick question:

2005 TL without Nav and want to add Bluetooth. It has 6 disc changer and cassette deck - neither of which will get any use.

Want to stream bluetooth from iPhone. What's the best way to do this?

Unfortunately, you cannot stream music through Bluetooth in the TL. Only phone conversations. Unless I'm mistaken, anything older than an '07 doesn't have an aux input either. This car has 10 year old technology in it. Something tells me to try the iSimple, but I have no experience with it.

let's you stream from your phone or any bluetooth device it also adds usb and aux.

I bought mine on ebay for around $100.

So how does this work since the car already does phone bluetooth for calls? Do you use the car's system for that or does this unit replace that and you have to run a new microphone?

Also, how's the sound quality with the bluetooth when streaming music?

Sound quality is amazing for streaming music. I just installed this version.

The HFL (built in bluetooth) will not work with this if you use the bluetooth integration. They interfere with each other. I contacted iSimple and they said they might try and fix this with an update in the future.

So the steering wheel phone buttons don't work anymore, but you gain voice control of your phone (texting, maps, etc). You could also just plug it in with the USB if it is an iphone, but you won't be able to use Siri through the system...See my post below, and i also attached the instructions for you to give you an idea of the operation.

Text over the radio screen works, steering wheel controls work..the integration is very impressive. Sometimes it gets confused, but for the most part it works great. Also, people on the other end of calls have said i sound just like I'm on the phone with them.

Another option is a USA Spec adapter:
USA Spec PA15-HON3

Then use a Bluetooth adapter via the Aux input of the USA Spec (many are available, so get the adapter that works best for you). Mine is set up this way, will stream audio to the radio and my HFL works normally (there is no interference between the USA Spec and streaming and the HFL).

Here's a link to my setup if it helps:
