iSimple IHD651 and Siri/HFL

So I wanted to do a quick post on this...I know iSimple has been posted to death on here, but I didn't see anything about Siri and the iPhone. Basically, if you are using Bluetooth with isimple, it seems the HFL gets all garbled when you get a call. It sounds terrible and muffled on both ends.

You could still just use the iPod usb mode, and use the HFL, but no voice control through bluetooth, or you can not sync with HFL and use bluetooth through simple, along with voice control. This only sucks because when you get a call and you are in radio or CD mode, it doesn't come over the system until you hit the XM button (no nav). Plus you don't get the little phone and service symbols.

Not a huge deal, but I figured I'd let everyone know and make sure this is how it works for all. Also, here's a quick tip that is nice...the isimple mic has a little ball on it that works with the clip so you can rotate it. If you look at my picture, i have it on the visor mount...the gap on the visor mount fits the ball perfectly, so you can just pop it in there and it works great.

Thanks for the write-ups on here. I installed in the usb in the middle console perfectly. If anyone else has a different experience with HFL let me know.

So I got a response from iSimple today. It is below...unfortunately it looks like hfl will interfere at the current time. I've gotten used to it though...the simple integration works great and calling is extremely clear on both ends. I'll post up more info later but here is the email:

"We apologize for the delay in response to your email and sorry to hear about the issues with your interface. Unfortunately, the hands free portion of the interface will clash with the factory hands free Bluetooth interfacing. It is not possible to turn off the BT hands free through the Connect. If it is paired to your vehicle and to the Connect, you will experience hands free issues. I am hoping that we will have the ability to shut off the hands free portion through an update at some point."
