Remote Start Recommendations Please

Its freezing and I've decided I'm not getting rid of my car anytime soon, so why not put a remote start in it. I was going to in the start but didn't want to take the chance of voiding the warranty if the job was botched.

Car
2008 Acura TL Base with Nav-Automatic

Recommendations
Anyone have a remote start system that integrates nicely with the current system installed? Preferably one that integrates with the switchblade key.

I read a past thread where some people had the Viper 5902 but that was years back, anything better these days? Also saw mention of Viper Smart start that is smart phone compatible but carries a yearly fee, which I would consider paying.

Options
-Would be nice if it integrates with the Switchblade so I don't have to carry another keyfob
-I've heard some work with smartphones now too, that would be cool but is not necessary
-Don't care about an alarm since the car sort of already has one, I mostly want the remote start

I have a Viper 5901 and use with the valet key. The switchblade stays at the house. It works great.

Thanks for the info, but I'd rather not have to use the valet key, I'm used to the switchblade key now. I've see that they now program your existing key and you use a sequence of lock/unlock and it starts and stops the car.

I'm on the hunt. Anyone have any recommendations of one that will use the existing swtichblade key?

I have the same system and do the same thing! Love it! The 2 way remote is just too good not to use.

Look at Compustar. You can use an FT-6200 controller paired with an iDatalink BLADE-AL (transponder bypass/data interface) and control it through the factory key. 3X lock will start the car. You will also need to use something like their EZ-GO which is an RFID entry chip because while the vehicle is remote started, the keyless on the switchblade key will not work.

The only drawback to this option is the range of the switchblade sucks. Like 50' if you have a brand new battery.

I'd suggest using their Drone Mobile smartphone app to go with the above setup. Start it from anywhere, EZ-GO will unlock as you approach, and the switchblade will work as a backup to the Drone if your phone dies or you can't get cell signal. The switchblade will still keep all of its original functionality as well.
