your opinion on this 2006 TL coolness factor

I found this 2006 TL w/NAV listed for 20k with 54,000 miles on it. I'd like to grab it for 18k (hehe .. I'll try).
It has some added features that I'm not quite sure about. In my opinion, the base TL is a beautiful design and any additions can make or break it's appearance. I kinda like these add-ons though because they don't distract from the base flow and it's not overdone.
The 3M film on the front seems a little more noticible than I'd like, but I've never seen a car with this type of protection on the nose, so I'm not quite sure what it's supposed to look like. The tint job is pretty well done. Kinda like a mirror finish instead of the basic black. It goes nice with the silver color of the paint.
Check it out and let me know what you think:

yes .. clean carfax .. I'm just bummed that it's OOW. I drove it today and the thing flys! Very quite compared to some of the other TLs I've driven. Not sure if it's because it's a 2006 as opposed to 04-05. I'm getting it from a dealer, so I wonder if they can give me a good extended warranty.

Do it. As long as your research says the car is golden, you won't regret it. I bought my TL August of 07, I've been in love ever since...and its silver.

I like the tint. My SSM TSX had something similar, and I liked the way the tint and the paint worked together. Some people pay good money for the clear bra too, but it's more visible in that picture than I've ever seen before. If it's in good shape and you feel good about the car, go for it!

I'm not so sure about the rearspoiler on this car. Do you think it takes away or adds anything to the body shape?

I've looked at so many of these that I'm starting to lose track of what I like about them. I really like the base look, but the rearspoiler kinda sets this one apart from all the other SSMs.

Carfax isn't always right. I had an old car that had a "clean carfax," but it had been wrecked harder than the titanic!!!

Carfax only catches it if a police report or insurance claim is made.

yeah, i don't really like that spoiler either. But it wouldn't be expensive to take it off and install an OEM lip spoiler to cover the holes.

I decided to pass on this one .. I just want a base model with no add-ons.
I made the mistake of driving an RL today. Damn that's a nice car, but $50 more per month than the TL to insure kinda kills that thought.

Still looking ...

What if you found a better deal on an RL, if you look around you would be surprised how cheap they are right now.

i think the insurance on the RL was his problem, not its price.

Yea I know, I was just thinking if he found a RL cheaper it would compensate for the extra insurance.

I think it is .. not a big fan of the wing now either. I prefer nothing tacked on the back of this vehicle.

At this point, the RL I found is the same price as the TL. I'm leaning more to the RL because you hardly ever see them on the road and the ride is a little smoother.

I don't want to derail my own "TL" thread, so I'll take my RL conversation to the appropriate forum.

I'm starting to get that stressed out pre-purchase feeling .. and I don't even know what I am going to buy ..

def a nice car and i think u can easily get it for 18 no problem.. just push them around a bit and show them who's boss... car dealerships need money right now.. they rather sell it for less than keep it on their lots and have it keep on depretiating and loosing even more money b/c of the new 09 models.. so i say go for it
