X-pel extended clear bra size

I'm considering having a XPel extended clearbra installed, but wanted to know if any of you who've had this done can give me an idea how much it covers: how far up the hood, far along the fenders, along the bumpers, etc. Maybe there are some pictures somewhere also?

I believe the extended package covers 20" on the hood, full bumper coverage and extends to where the fender flares before it flattens out. The standard hood coverage is 14" and the coverage for the bumper is just the leading edge.

Wow; saw that picture before but didn't realize it was 3M/XPel.

I can't say I'm impressed with the difference in the shine/gloss; there's a pretty big difference between the bra and the hood. Does it still look that way? One reason I was going with 3M over VentureShield was I though the clear coat would more or less match the shine. The shine on RG129's hood looks much more "even" (check the fifth and last picture):

Xpditor: does your finish still look this way? Maybe these pics were before the bra was cured and Zainoed?

Yeah. The film settles down with exposure to heat and you can polish it just like the metal panels. You are seeing an extreme comparison because I am up on a ladder looking down which most people don't do. Also, the upper part is highly polished before the clear bra went on.

There have been advances in the 3M film since I had this installed in 2004 also.

However, most people cannot see my clear bra unless I point it out to them... then they have to get up close. I will try and get some new pictures for you. In fact I have one that is taken from the front.

Angle of light has some to do with the photo as well. remember the clera coat on the 3M film is shinier than most plus you have clear under it to from your paint so the depth and look on a darker will be more at times in different lighting conditions

Thanks for the input; decided to get the X-pel extended treatment, including headlights. Since I haven't seen pics of this on a RRP anywhere, I'll try to post some after it's finished.

Here's the skinny on 3M Sctocgard Paint Protection Film. As Xpditor mentioned, the film has gone through changes because of constant R&D. I think this is a 4th gen film.

It's a good choice. I have the non-extended treatment on my car and the difference is that the extension along the sides of the bumper is not quite as much. Do post pics!
