Hey Kennedy,
I just orded a pair for the reverse lights, a pair for license plate, and one for the trunk light. Up above you mention you had to put some silicone on one of them to help with fitment, which bulb was it?
great post by the way

A quick dollop of clear silicone will keep the moisture out and hold them place.
The reverse bulbs fit better, put I plan to do those for additional security as well.

No way. #5 is way too bright. Firing that thing up at night, driving down the road would blind you. Use the 1 Watters (referenced as "bulb zero" from superbrightleds, caled "wled-whp") for the interior... and BTW, these are not nearly as likely to fail.
http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b....17566&next=50
BTW, I have 2 sets of these (4) in a sets I could sell each of you for $20 delivered, hit me up if interested. These are the leftover from my TL and Odyssey LED upgrades.

Thanks!
Thanks for testing out these bulbs Kenny! I kinda gave up on backup lights until I saw your post. Everything else in my car is already white LEDs except the backups so now with your post I can finally finish it off with the backup lights. Thanks again. I ordered the 906 chrome coat super white bulbs from autoluminination about 6 months ago before all these new LEDs came out. They were so dark it was just plain worthless. STAY AWAY FROM THOSE!
So now I have:
9LED whites from tec-toyz: 4 domes, 2 doors, 2 license plates
194 5-LED Matrix Bulbs: 2 vanity mirrors, 1 trunk
Soon to have the #5 from Kenny's post for my backups....though I'm tempted to change my license plates to #4 now. I'm happy with my interior setup cuz I don't want it to be too bright inside. The 9LEDs are just right in my opinion and I get compliments on them all the time.
To answer the foglight question above, I'm currently using Nokya 7000k Artic White bulbs with stock HIDs. They do have a very slight purplish tint to them when you look directly at them...just barely. On the road it makes the stock HIDs seem a little whiter. Doesn't add much to brightness but whitens it a bit more. I've gone through Hyper Industries, MTec, Luminics, and Nokyas from eBay and the Nokyas produced the best results for me. I'm not a good photographer but if anyone is interested in pictures I'd be glad to take some and post them if I figure it out.
Thanks again Kenny.

Nice, I currently have a 12-LED hyper-white bulb in my license plate:
Would upgrading to bulb #4 be a great improvement in term of lighting my whole plate and illumination?
btw...i'm definetely getting the reverse/back-up lights for my 2nd gen tl after I seen your pics, great job on the write up!

Man Kennedy you must have spent a pile of money trying all these different bulbs out. I thought about buying a bunch but the shopping cart got a little to expensive for my taste. I ended up just getting some xenon 921 bulbs for the reverse lights. Kudos for being the guinea pig on these!

Oh and one more question, currently I have the 9-LED white festoon bulb in my dome light. Unlike the 3rd gen TL we dont have the rear passenger light, we only have the dome light, would upgrading to these be a much of a difference:
if not, then what would you recommend as far as festoon bulbs go on this page:

Thanks a bunch!

autolumination packaging is kinda wack... they put the LEDs in a plastic bag, staple the tip so the LEDs don't fall out of it, then they wrap it with newspaper (or some kind of grey-ish paper, and put that in a box...
i was expecting some kind of bubble wraps for safety and all
oh well, my #4 and #5 arrived... i will give these a try tonight

Dude... you're kidding right. It's in a BOX, nice and safe. Most folks ship LEDS in bubble wrap envelopes.
You're a tough customer to please.

My only concern for the #4 on the 2nd Gen is that because it is more focused, it might give a puddle effect on the floor the way our 2nd Gen bumper is designed. Thanks VoLLy!

How about these, would they be slightly brighter than the single dome type you posted above:

For those who wants to try #4 as dome lights, it looks pretty good. (I tried my backup light in dome lights)
I don't know why Kennedy says not to use it... I think it will look pretty good.

#5 domes are just plain too bright for interior domes. Consider the situations... you're driving down a dark road at night, and then you fire up one of those #5's to look for a CD. When you turn off that dome light, your night vision will have been crushed. Do what ya want, your money and your night vision. Please do not compromise safety for aestetics.

i have the zeros in my domes and door they look great...at first i thought they might be to bright but its not the case at all. my friend just put the zeros in his license plate on his black tl they look good but i think i am going to go with something a little brighter...
when i was looking at how he took his trunk liner off i realized that he has screw type while mine are just flat (not to sure how explain what they look like but you guys obvi know what i am talking about). thought it was kind of wierd how we had the same model year and it was still diff.

How did you apply the silicone? Did you put it on the inside of the housing? What kind of silicone did you use?

I think the fact that I used the Zero's previously "stretched out" the mounting tabs. I recall the zero requiring a bit of force to get them installed, which tells me they were a bit oversized. When removed, this left the mounting tabs a bit "loose". I supposed I cold take a screwdriver and ttweak them to tighten them up, or just spend the $10 or so for new sockets.
I used plain old clear silicone from home depot. Just used a "dollop" on each side of the led to "glue" it to the housing.
Glad you guys are diggin' em too.
