Will '05 price be higher?
Due to financial reasons I'm considering waiting for the '05 model year. From other posts and reviews it sounds like the TL will be very similar. (hopefully they'll work out a few of the annoyances highlighted on this board)
Does anyone have a feel for or a guess about what Acura will do with pricing? I assume there will be some increase for general inflation, but does anyone know of Honda / Acura's track record when it comes to pricing?
Thanks.

On the flip side however, these energy price increases could force a Hybrid TL to market sooner than they're planning. I suspect mid '05 or '06.
At this point, 2/3rds of the way through the model year, any price increase is more likely than not offset by a higher resale on a model year newer car. On a $30-35k car, that would only go away if the car was sold when it was over 10 years old.
Next year, no matter what MSRP, the actual selling price will more likely go down. Probably $500-$1000 over invoice. Auto market is very competitive and economy is not getting better. Manufacturers and dealers will have to eat steel and energy price increases if any.

With the demand that Acura is seeing for the 04TL, I wouldn't be surprised if the price took quite a jump.
If this follows classical supply & demand economics, Acura could easily bump the price a thou or so and still be a great bargain.

I have a 2001' and 2003' Civic EX, for my boys. The 2001' was a total redesign. So far no problemo. Both cars have been "key" cars. ( put the key in, turn to start and drive )

My neighbor's brother is an automotive writer. We were discussing our TL (he loved it) and our TSX, and he mentioned to me that the TSX had gone up significantly for '05. SO - the TL is probably going up as well.
Does anyone know the MSRP pricing trend of the TL for the previous generations..e.g. Was there a price increase from model year 2000 to 2001 or 2001 to 2002. Sorry if I am mistaken and those model years don't exist for the previous gens. I know know about the 2004 =P

Plus, Acura is boasting of record sales and the car has been getting great reviews, so I'd guess MSRP would increase rather significantly ($1,000?) for the 05 model. Assuming the '05 doesn't offer any big improvements, I'd wait until the 05 is released, then negotiate a deal on a 2004.

If you are worried money buy an 04 TL when the 05 TL arrives. Location dependent, u could probably get $2500 off the car.
