i was being a little curious about my 2004 acura TL, i bought the car regardless of 144k miles she had. car is absolute beauty and extra clean.
I know 3g TL has a strong engine while accords go 200k easily, they should go a little more.
my question to all prestige 3g owners is, how many miles you have on your TL, what year and how good she runs now?
If there is no bad luck failure in car, on what kind of maintenance should i keep my eye on, in order to get her to 200k+ ?
i drive about 10-12k a year lol .. so ill get 210k in about 2017

@HVAC34 Were valves never adjusted and exhaust side ran too long on tight? Or you skip a tooth or something?
We must know!
I was like, fuck yeah, look at that...300K...oh wait there's more to the sentence.

It was my negligence plus not wanting to invest a penny into the 300k engine and just start fresh

Just hit 107k in my '08 TL-S and no problems so far in the month i've had it. The previous owner did a lot of the major maintenance (TB, WP, SP, etc) so should be good to go for a while. Slight oil leak but haven't noticed it dripping.

Just Bought a 05 TL from the original owner has only had the routing maintenance's done. All Highway mile's at 285,286. Engine looks, sounds and feels great. Passed Smog no Issues. The interior however has seen better days. all the leather is cracked. Im going to need to have it re-upholstered.

One on the right for me
Wow - I only put 6k on my car from Feb 2020 - Feb 2021. That is a first and the least I've ever driven in a year. I took a few longer road trips in the Audi as it is considerably more comfortable than the TL but that would have only added 2-3k miles tops. When I posted in Feb of 2020 I was expecting to hit 360k by December 2020. As it stand now I'll probably only be at 360k by December 2021.

2008 Acura TL (3G)
Hello, its been a long time since I've replied to this thread ... actually forgot about it to tell you the truth. Knock on wood, my 2008 Acura TL is running pretty well as I sit at 196,000+ miles. I am the 2nd owner but I bought it back in 2013 will really low mileage from a original owner who rarely drove it. My first TL was a 2005 when the 3G first came out and got 150,000+ on that one before I purchased my current one. I feel like I've been very fortunate to almost reach 200K miles but after reading some of the more recent posts, it seems like you guys have some HIGH expectations on the miles you're looking to get out of these cars. I would be ecstatic if I could get 300K out on my current TL - any suggestions on what I can do to keep my car going as long as you guys have (Other than getting premium oil changes every 10K, rotating tires every 5K and using high octane (Super) gas)? Great to be a part of this again - hope to get some good insight from ya' all. - Sal Detroit, MI

2005 TL 5AT A-Spec Navi - 273,901and still chugging along.
Mechanical Issues: Slight vibration due to wheel balance and a small oil leak above the drain plug (I suspect it's the oil pump)
Cosmetic: Cracked dash, sagging headliner, some interior bulbs burnt out
Still madly in love with this car.

My 07 clocked over 121k this week. Brakes have a slight vibration depending on how cold it is. Engine runs great but I am worried about my transmission. When I get paid, I'm doing pressure switches and fluid. I'd love to join the rest of my family with their high mileage Hondas. Dad has a 06 Element 5MT with almost 400k, brother has a EP3 Civic Si with around 300k last I checked.

Burning Brakes
Starting to come up on a year since the pandemic shutdowns began, and I've been working at home since then. Not too many miles put on the old girl, though I did manage to snap my ebay timing belt in this past year. Thankfully, I went back and re-did that entire 105k service myself and the car came through unscathed and is running as smooth as ever, 2006 5AT sitting @ 235k miles.

05 Base TL
Just hit the milestone of 120,120 on Sunday, April 18. Still going strong for the most part, definitely more power than most people that try and challenge me expect it to have

My 2007 is at 205K, got it @ 40K so that's mostly me. Going to do a round a little things over the next couple weeks, maybe change up the interior lights finally. Accidently cracked my Nav screen in December; waiting on a replacement and doing the install myself.

2005 base 6mt 262k miles and still running strong! No lights smooth idle and still has good power when that VTEC kicks in. I have no clue when my clutch has been replaced previous owner had it from 170k to 259k and never replaced the clutch. Sometimes the gears feel notchy when shifting so I'm going to put some Syncromesh GM fluid in it and see if that helps.

- The MTF is now called "ACDelco Synchromesh"
- There are two versions, the straight "Synchromesh" and the "Synchromesh Friction Modified"; it is the latter of the two is the one you want; the former may actually make things worse.
