What's the mileage on your 3G? Still going strong?
#1681
299,357 miles.....will top 300k after the holiday break. Then I have to decide if I drive her until she drops or sink some $ into her. Probably getting an RDX in the spring. Will post my 300k photo. Happy New Year Everyone!

2005 TL 6spd about to hit 216K mainly highway driven I drive over 60 miles daily to and from work. Really debating if I should keep it. Still running strong by the way check engine comes on and off due to bank1 which I think it may just be the 02 sensor.
Things done to it
Clutch
Rear brakes
Replaced all fluids
all motor mounts
All interior light switches to led
A spec kit (currently waiting for it to get painted)
Things needed done if I keep it
Interior is a horror show
Plan on replacing my suspension most likely going with tein
Timing belt and water pump maybe next
Headlights need to be cleaned or replaced

Burning Brakes
I was going to take a picture of my 222,222 odometer milestone but I missed it
I suppose I should be happy my car is running smooth at 225k. I got a new job so I'm putting ~35 miles on it per day vs the 70+ per day I used to be doing.
Front suspension, LCA bushings, other joint and fork bushings ought to be next on the to do list.

TLicious Type S
Still going strong
My '08 Type-S is my daily driver with 166,822 miles, and running strong. I've tried to keep it running strong by keeping up with regular maintenance, and immediately fixing any higher mileage wear items. The engine and transmission still feel very strong and smooth, with regular oil changes, and frequent ATF drain-and-fills.
Bought it with 82K, did engine mounts, immediately full service of fluids, plugs, filters, etc. Did 2nd and 3rd gear transmission pressure switches at this time, and haven't had any problems.
Over time I've replaced: Throttle Position Sensor (easy bolt on), Power Steering Pump, Starter (easy DIY), Alternator. Of course brake pads (easy DIY), and alignments and tires. Had the timing belt and valves done by the dealer at 135K. Front seat leather had to be repaired as it was dried and cracking, and I replaced the Bluetooth link myself.
It's gotten a bit more rattley lately, so I'll probably have to do sway bar end links and / or bushings at some point. Hope not to have to get into struts anytime soon. (What do you guys recommend for struts?)
So it costs something to keep running, but has been reasonably reliable, and easily repairable--it's a Honda after all. I hope to run it another 100K if possible. Car still looks cool, very reliable, comfortable, and enjoyable to drive and travel for long distances.

Now the proud "owner" of my wifes 2007 TL-S Auto with 160k. Over the holidays we just got her a new HRV so she has "given" me the TL to do with as I please. Car needs new leather and a few fixes here and there, you all have me worried about the transmission now, even though it seems fine. Also going to lower, exhaust and CAI next summer. This is my 1st post so HOWDY!

2005 TL 366,000, i should hit 400,000 by the end of 2020
new transmission at 110,000
ive done springs, struts, catalytic converter, starter, PS pump, water pump, APP sensor, heater valve, front and side motor mounts, rear and trans mount soon, sub woofer
had my right axle fall out, left lower ball joint shear off while driving. cd player is shot. i think the rear mids are are shot, lots of console lights are out,
but still runs great. Im hoping to get 2 more years out of her

2003 TL still going
I have a 2003 TL and have almost 300,000 on the original spark plugs. I'm actually afraid they may be rust into the block. Still going strong, but I'm going to change them soon.

When you take them out, use an impact driver; if you do not, there is a pretty good chance the threads will come out with the plugs. If you don't have an impact driver, either rent or buy one; that or take it to a professional for the job. What about your timing belt, water pump, tensioner, and all of the front oil seals and such?
#1701
No, I haven't had any of that done. I have changed the oil at around 4000 mile intervals; getting ready to put on my 3rd pair of brake shoes and will change the rotors for the first time; I will be changing the steering pump for the first time along with belts; had alternator changed once; that's it. I need to get timing belt and water pump for the first time. Of course, the transmission when to hell at 125,000. It has really been a trouble-free car.

were you trying to save money on maintaining it or did you not anticipate owning it this long.
do not go HAM on those spark plugs...I would probably get the engine hot as shit and then try
and see if one of the front bank ones will easily come out...you never know...

Rockstar143, not really. I would take it to my mechanic to get things done because the Owner's manual said I need them and he would say: "No, you don't need that until your car says you need it not when the manual say you need it. They are trying to get you back to their service department as an additional stream of income; don't fall for it." So, I didn't and here we are.

You're saying your 300k mile TL has never had a tune up?

It's not entirely unheard of.... My service advisor has a regular customer with a 2014 Accord V6 that comes in every few weeks... He came in complaining of the car not running smoothly or having much power. Turns out he was still on the OEM spark plugs at 337K miles!
When you do finally change the plugs, your car is going to run so smooth again you won't believe it!

Yes, Majofo, I am the original owner; actually, I bought the car with 8600 miles on it in May 2003 and it still has the original spark plugs, wires, and coil packs. That is why I fear removing the plugs. The amazing thing is, it is running as smooth as ever so there is no reason to even tune it up now.

Advanced
i was being a little curious about my 2004 acura TL, i bought the car regardless of 144k miles she had. car is absolute beauty and extra clean.
I know 3g TL has a strong engine while accords go 200k easily, they should go a little more.
my question to all prestige 3g owners is, how many miles you have on your TL, what year and how good she runs now?
If there is no bad luck failure in car, on what kind of maintenance should i keep my eye on, in order to get her to 200k+ ?
i drive about 10-12k a year lol .. so ill get 210k in about 2017
