Will do, I had a '91 Pathfinder SE in White/grey. Looked great. But also had a White on black maxima.
Do you have a pic of your to send? I haven't seen White on Quartz, only on Parch.
Thanks!

I have posted this message several times before, but it appears certain people, whose posts are being deleted, didn't notice it, so here it is again.
I have just deleted several posts because they were off topic. The subject of this thread is "what is your occupation/how do you afford the TL?", and that is all we want to know.
No arguments.
No rants.
No lengthy discussions on your opinion of another posters post.
No asking questions or saying hi to your buddies, and no replies either.
From now on, any posts that stray off topic, or are argumentative or abusive, will be summarily deleted with no warning or notice.
If you can't find your post, you probably qualify under this criteria. If you feel you have been wrongfully accused, send me a PM.

I too will not state my income here, but am co-owner in an engineering company and do a lot of stock trading.
It is very foolish to think that everyone spends as much as they can afford on their car. I bought the TL because it is a great deal, hopefully reliable, and very fun to drive.
My last car was a Dodge Intrepid (fool me once, ...). When the Dodge salesman came to my house he said, "With a house like this, why did you buy an Intrepid? You should have bought the Viper."
I thought his logic (not to mention salesmanship) was laughable, but I guess he's not the only one to think that you should spend as much as you can afford for everything you buy.

Im an aircraft mechanic which I dont think had much to do with my purchase. Mywhole deal was based soley on what they gave me for my CL. Otherwise I would not have bought the new TL.

33, married w/ 3 kids. i am a computer network engineer. i afford the tl by making smart financial decisions. i think spending over $30k for a car is not a smart financial decision, but hey we all have to have some fun w/ our hard earned money. you can't take it with you when you die.

My logic, buy nice things to get along with other people that have the same likes and also do well for themselves, you will in turn make connections and network your way to success. Its all a state of mind to be motivated and get ideas to create your own wealth. If you associate yourself with successful people, you will become successful yourself.
Image is everything. The kind of car you drive is a part of your image. The better your image, the more people like you and the better position you are in to get a better job, more money, meet other people that are intelligent and have ideas on what to do with your money. It sounds petty, but like it or not its true.

im sure a lot of it has to do with people's parents helping or people still living at home. When you dont have that many bills, you can probably own just about anything. Some people are more lucky than others when it comes down to this. Some parents kick their kids out at 18, others dont want their kids to leave home.
As for us.. im also a net admin for a financial insitution and my wife is an accountant. We also own our own home with two girls, a 4 yr old and a 1 yr old. We also own a 2000 Honda Accord, but we car pool daily since we work 1 street away from each other. My first car was a crappy chevy S10 that my dad bought for me right after High school. After that, I got a Nissan 300zx, then a Acura TL, then a Escalade and now this TL is ours, but mostly my wife's since this is what SHE wanted, but now i love it too. LOL. I told her my next car would be a M45 if that time ever comes. I also have another expensive hobby and that is a reef saltwater aquarium. Hope that helps.

i'm hoping to move out in march, closer to work. my car has 46K miles in 19 months

Yeah, aquarium's awesome! Reminds me of the ones my parents used to have...they didn't have a reef, but quite a few salt water ones to go with a couple of fresh water ones, most of which were 100+ gallons. They're a pain to maintain, but it looks like you've got it covered...very beautiful!!

I'm a system admin for a large company and my wife also works at a large company. I've had my TL for about a month now. I've also got the reef addiction hobby. I've got a 100G now and I'm the process of setting up a new 340G reef tank.

Another computer nerd here, I'm a system admin for a bank. I drove a 1999 Honda Civic for 6 years, and in the meantime, stacked up enough chips to finally afford my first nice car. No regrets whatsoever.

People do lie about how much money they make, and they lie about sex related questions: size, frequency, extramarital affairs, etc.- topic for a different forum.
That doesn't mean that everyone in that thread lied about their income, but some certainly did. On the internet the frequency of lying increases exponentially. I'm quite cynical about many things I read on the internet due to the anonymity factor.
I find the comments about income to be a bit untoward anyway. Even if it is anonymous those comments just make others jealous- it's especially rude because some people lie!
By the way, plenty of upper middle class people are incredibly cheap. They would never spend a great of money on a vehicle.

I own a Black 2003 TL Aspec. I am 54 years old and am a lawyer. I have had many luxury and sports cars in my life time (Porsche 930 Turbo, Benz E55 AMG, Lexus LS400, 67 Corvette, to name a few). I've had 2 Acura's, one of the first Legends ('87) sold from the original Calgary dealer, Silver Hill.
I am a Canadian of German descent, so have been somewhat partial to German cars. However, as the years have gone by, I'm now a full on fan of the Acura/Lexus/Infiniti trio of vehicles and I'm off European and certainly domestic made vehicles.

I am a QA Lead at a software company.
Due to an unfortunate family event, I bought this vehicle to help me cope.
Otherwise, I make just enough to live in a small apartment and make payments on my TL.
This would involve eating once a day and driving without insurance.
Which is not the case, for those of you concerned I do eat 3 times a day and have full-coverage on my TL.

On a related note, I am wondering if anyone out there is willing to sell to me an Aspec leather jacket and has a line on any 2003 TL sales literature.
Thanks.

I am the General Manager for a Power Supply mfg. in So. Cal.
I am planning to start doing Home appraisals also.
I bought the car cash.
I bought a home for 400K and a year later it is worth over 800K.
So I cashed out 30K and got a pre-owned TL with 7k miles on it, A-spec and Wheels and tires included from a guy trying to get out of his Lease.
Some people are weary about taking cash out for these types of purchases, but on a car loan the interest you pay is not deductable at the end of the year.
But if you roll it into your Mortgage it is. I have other investments in real estate and once I flip em then I will pay down the mortgage on my house.
It's all about manipulating equity.

don't know how you guys afford your houses in California..
Our market seems to be catching up a little, I think...
still average home price in Broward county is around $350....
I bet that doesn't get you much in Cali.... lol
My TL payment is high because of my trade.... $600 / month. 05 with 9k miles on it, navi, wdp, paid about $30k.

One more Computer guy here....Network Engineer for the biggest (computer people will know) telecommunication company... graduated May 04 (M.S.) landed a Job and bought the TL one month later (JUNE 04) living by myself but rent up here is very reasonable...
best decision of my life IMO...will have the car payments done with when its about time to buy a house and settle down and do the grown up thing
+ its just more fun to drive and have your OWN TL when you are 25.
Really surprised that all the people that have replied to this thread are Computer Professionals.

Crazy, add one more "computer geek" to the list (or as scrb09 puts it, were "Computer Professionals"!). haha
Im a programmer, 23 (been programming since 18 in the industry), traded in my 01 accord last month (drove that since october of 2000 and bought it as my graduation gift to myself... haha) and got myself into a 05 navi TL a few weeks ago.
Been loving the TL and these boards. Ive learned so much from just reading around here.
