what will it take for P to beat type S?

just curious, what will it take for a 00TL to beat a stock type S? has anyone ever did this?

i have a friend that owns a type S and DOES NOT want to mod it at all. it's completely stock and is going to stay that way..

but no one said anything about me staying stock..

headers, UR crank pulley, CAI, catback and you will win! You should be putting out 270HP at crank apposed to 260HP for the type S if not more than 270HP at crank which means more WHP than the Type S. The cars weight about the same and stock ride height is about the same. Same tranny too, you win!

well, i should be more specific, i meant, whaat's the minimum needed to beat the S..?

or maybe even tie..?

headers, CAI and UR crank pulley should draw us even if not over an S.

3.5 RL engine swap would bring a TLP over the TLS.

the stock S has max torque at 3500 where yours is 4400. There is a dual stage intake on the S as well. I would say forget all the pulleys and super charger mods, a 100 shot of NOS would do.. lol.

100 shot of nitrous wouldn't destroy a type s. a 50 shot should pull you even with it.

Yeah, it would. A TL-P puts down like 175-180 at the wheels. A Type-S puts down 195-200 at the wheels.

180 + 100 = 280, which is > 200. Nitrous shots are measured by horsepower gained at the wheels. A 100-shot on a Premium would ABSOLUTELY destroy a Type-S, but it would also destroy the engine and the transmission in the process.

i meant to say 100 shot would destroy, as I latyer said a 50 shot would pull even, actaully your right though a 50 shot would beat a type s easily also.

Isn't it sad how...a TL-P can put 175-180whp. While a Type S can only push out 15 more ponies at the wheels....even though its a 35hp difference. :sigh: I wish the TL-S can push out what the G35's can do. 210-215's...stock.

Not necessarily "sad".

The realistic range is actually about 20-25 fwhp, since Type-S usually puts down about 195-200 fwhp.

35 hp * .75 = 26.25

Give or take, on a good day... blah blah blah

a cl-s 6MT normally puts down around 220fwhp that's up there with the g35's except the 6MT G35 which I believe puts down about 250rwhp=fast as hell.

Yeah...I wish there is a way to make our tranny lost be equivalent to those RWD. -=T
