Hello everyone!

I was just curious - is there a little plate with a VIN attached to it on the 2008 TL engine somewhere? I have an appointment on the 20th and they'll be looking for that in order to finalize registration. If anyone has any information that'd be nice. Thanks!

 

there is one on the transmission Im sure. as for the engine there should be, but I cant recall seeing one off the top of my head

 

Would I be able to see it if I jack it up on a lift?

 

shouldnt the place that you're buying the car from be responsible for that kind of stuff?

the vin is definitely on the engine block. but not sure why you need it off the engine.....
as, the car displays the vin SEVERAL different places.

 

There's a VIN tag on both the transmission and engine. At least on my 2006 6MT.

 

My vin tags are missing from doors. Car is a recovered theft and the thieves scraped them off. There is one on the dash & firewall that I could find. Where exactly are the engine/tranny vins? The bottom?

 

We should post here on where every TL VIN and vehicle identifier is. So then when the friendly auto thief (around the world looking in to this forum) does a salvage-switch/bulkhead plant, he'll enjoy one-stop shopping and sell his re-VIN stolen TL to our Grandma.

The VIN number locations are all identified and diagrammed in the owner's manual in a dedicated section.
