Used TL 2006

Hi guys - I need some advice on buying a used Acura TL 2006 3.2. Its priced at $19500 with 42K miles.

The car is still under a tranferrable extended warranty. The seller also has the car went thru acura accelerated service check up and also carfax checkup.

I would like to know what are the things that I should check out on this car to make sure it is worth the money.

The car has a Nav system but no backup camera. Does that mean it has been installed separately as I thought they both came together.

Please advise. Thanks for your help.

Take it for an extensive test drive and see how the tranny shifts. Check the tranny fluid and see what color it is. If it's really dark- there's a good chance the tranny fluid/tranny has not been serviced in a while. Check the dashboard for any cracks. When your on your test drive, turn the radio off and try and see if you hear rattles. What was included in the 'accelerated' check up?

If you can- try and post a link to the sale so we can look at the car to see if there are any physical irregularities.

Welcome to the forums.

I bought my 06 tl in june of 2010.....It had 39500 and I paid 17,500.
The dealer even certified it for free.

Check for SQUEAKS and RATTLES.
Look at the door gaskets for wear.

The only issues I have had....both done under warranty.
2 motor mounts go bad
Bad side view mirror glass
Door gasket on driver's

Your going to pay almost 20K for a 5 year old car? In the upstate NY area I have seen plenty of 08's with 30K on them for $19/20K. I would keep looking.

If it's and auto I'd try 17K or walk. There are plenty of them for sale, just have to expand your search radius. If it's manual, 17.5K or18K max. They are rare but still...

Have fun car shopping
