07 Engine Cover in 04 TL?

Well, I know some people hate the engine covers and all that, but I actually like it. I think it gives the engine a cleaner look and always liked how the TL's engine bay was so neat looking.

I realized the 07 (base and Type-S) have different engine covers than the 04. The part that goes directly on the engine/intake manifold is somewhat bigger, and two tone black/silver and has an emblem.

Does anyone know if its a direct swap? I imagine you need the engine cover+ probably whatever bracket it needs, but would it work? (or has anyone ever done it)?

Here's the diagram from AcuraOemparts.com

The base 07 TL engine cover will fit the base 04 engine, with the right brackets. You're good to go!

Does anyone have pics of an 07 engine bay?

I havent been able to find a good shot. its always sideways barely visible pictures of it

I'm debating on painting mine or splurging on the 07 cover!

Acuraoemparts has everything for about 100 bucks.

If I were you, I would invest in some quality high temperature primer and paint, and paint your existing engine cover.

Save the 100 dollar sand buy yourself some sand paper and metal polish and chapstick.

Use the sand-paper to smooth out the surface and polish up the intake manifold and the top cover to bring it to an amazing shine! It'll look REALLY nice. You can do the same thing to the throttle body and make it stand out nicely. Then you can go to an auto-body shop and have them paint the engine covers to match the paint outside. A few members did this in the past and it looks amazing esp with colors like Kinetic Blue and White Diamond!

here is the 07 Base TL engine Bay
