Tried searching and couldn't get a straight answer. Do I have a Tech Pkg?

Hey guys,

First off let me apologize if the answer is easily out there and I'm clearly missing it. I tried sifting through the slew of search results but couldn't get a solid definition of whether or not I have a technology package.

I recently (last week) picked up an '08 Diamond White Pearl TL with black interior. I absolutely love the car. Big change from my E36. I'm trying to plan out iPod/iPhone and Sirius integration. What I think I want to install is the Dice Electronics MediaBridge. I checked the compatability on their website and it says that it will not work if my car has a technology package.

How can I tell if I have a technology package or not? What I do know is that I have a touch screen navigation, 6 disc mp3/dvd audio changer, xm tuner (not activated but is present), and aux in port in the center console.

Help a noob out please?

Thanks in advance!

When I bought mine (06), they just asked if I wanted Navi or not- I don't think it was called a tech package- the only options were +/- navi and +/- 6MT vs. 5AT. If it was a technology package, the only addition was the navigation.

If I remember correctly, the TL was not listed with a Technology Package. The two identifiers were Base and Type-S.

Dealers would say "Technology" package just so it sounded good. The difference is Navigation or not. The 07-08 Type-S came fully loaded.

So you basically have the "Tech Package" or "Fully loaded" options.

TL's prior to 2009 didn't have a factory "Tech Package". You basically had the choice between Base, A-Spec, or Type-S ('07/08) with 5AT or 6SPD with or without Summer Tires. They didn't offer the Tech Package until 2009+ models of the TL. If you have the navigation, chances are you fit the bill for the quote-on-quote 'tech' package.

As mentioned no "Tech Package".

It's either Base, Base w/Navi or Type-S (choice of MT or AT and Summer Tires).

One easy way to see the trim packages offered is here: http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/...arch=&ListAll=

Click the 'Door/Version' drop down and there is a list of trim packages offered.

^^^^every TL came with blue tooth, with the base TL the only option was Navi which cost you extra $2000-$2500 when bought new. TL-S came fully loaded with no option except for color and tran choice between AT/MT if you choose to build it when buying new. The voice recognition and interact ONLY available with NAVI.

Along the lines of what's already been said - there was no "Tech Package" for the 3G TL. If you have Nav, you have everything that was available on this car in terms of technology.

I'm not sure but I've only seen them on other '08s. I was originally thinking of replacing them but I've grown (very quicly) to love them.

i agreed with this post when you wrote it but did not realize that you only specified bluetooth, did the base model have voice control?

TL came in 3 trims:

1. Base -> This had bluetooth connection for Hands free, ELS sound
2. Base W/ Nav -> This has the navigation system with VOICE CONTROL to tell the car to raise/lower the A/C, ask the time, set a destination, etc.
3. TL-S -> Comes with nav and everything, only option was Auto Or Manual
