Hello all,

In my fathers 4th gen 09 TL tech pkg when he turns on his car and if he does NOT press the "Enter" button after about 25 seconds or so there is a wall paper background of a preloaded image or I can upload one, and this stays up there until the "Enter" button is pressed.

However, in my new 2015 TLX as soon as I start the car it displays some sort of warning message for maybe 5 seconds then just goes to navigation screen or whatever screen I was on last. There is no need to press the "Enter" button.

I actually PREFER THIS, but just curious why? And also since I can choose a wall paper in my new TLX what is the point since where does it display it? I cant figure that out. Thanks!

 

Wallpaper is displayed on the "info/clock" screen.

But I prefer to just keep the maps on the screen. One of the beauties of the dual screen that seems to cause reviewers consternation. (Probably because they did not take time to get used to it.)

 

Because having to press the Enter button was a needless distraction and annoying.

 

WHEN does the wall paper show? As of now I turn on the car, message appears for 5 seconds, then goes away to navigation screen. Maybe if you dont have the tech package then it will be displayed?

 

The details about wallpaper are on pages 222-225 of the updated Owner's manual. It does not say anything about being a tech or advanced option.
