Tracking the TL-S

I have been tracking my 05 Subaru Legacy GT manual for ~7 years now and have had lots of fun. I also have an 07 TL-S auto.

I want to take this car out a few times and if i like it how it handles and what not, I might even consider trading my Legacy for a manual TL-S.

My question is has anyone tracked their TL-S and if so how'd you like it? Also, if you're a regular trackhead, where have you run and what times did you run in the TL/TL-S? Thanks.

we have lots of track tl's.
dont underestimate the base 6MT TL.

I hate cars has mentioned that the TL will keep up with vettes in the corners. might even surpass them, but as soon as that straight away opens up the vette is gone.

vill0169 tracks his TL. He lightened it to 2500lbs if I remember correctly.
He's on par with m3's.

princlybug tracks his tl-s.

apnorm tracks his tl.

I would love to track my car!!!!!!

I need to get my suspension up and ready!

I have owned multiple types of both cars. Im on my 3rd TL its an 08 S 6mt and have had 4 Corvettes with the latest being a C6 Z06. Saying a heavy 4 door sedan TL is capable of handling as good or surpassing a Corvette on a twisty track is almost laughable. Its just not realistic, but I will say the TL does handle decently.

Couldn't resist! lol This Z06 was a fantastic car but just had a terrible driver. But yeah, "most" corvettes won't break a sweat on track with a TL; but, the year/type of vette and the driver skill especially can "level" the playing field more than you might think.

My TL-S is bone stock. As for my legacy that's a different story.

Here's one of my vids of me at Willow Springs.

I've got some prior scubby love too. I've raced this 04 STI in NASA's TTB class for the last few years and it's absolutely awesome to drive. My good buddy runs it now and actually just set a class track record at BIR last weekend.

If you decide to track it on a regular basis, there's quite a lot you can do, but for just a 1-time track day, I'd recommend brakes, brakes and more brakes above all else.
