TL Shopping on the Net
TL Shopping on the Net
Hello all,
I just registered here and have some questions. I just requested a quote from a local Acura dealer for an 06' 5AT/Nav and their response was 33,785. I'm guessing this is before TTT, destination, etc. How's this price look? High? Low? Any suggestions on doing this whole internet thing? Never have done it before but am out of the country at the moment. I'll be back next week and want to buy a TL as soon as I get home. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

im sure u could probably talk it down to 33,000 and have them throw in mud guards.....trunk tray...and all weather mats....im not sure where u live...but MSRP is a little over 33k...like 33,400 i think....so if ur gonna pay that price....have em throw in the all weather mats, trunk tray and mud guards....or talk it down
Always ask for OTD price. Also, be sure to ask for the accessories that you want prior as part of the OTD price, otherwise they can screw you later. I got 32,977 before TTL not including accessories. With AS floor mats, trunk tray, and wheel locks, it came out to 33,169 before TTL.
I got my '05 5AT w/Navi back on March 26, 2005 at Los Gatos Acura.

Pay consumer reports $15 for the full report....that will tell you all THEIR ACTUAL COSTS and you negotiate UP from there....NOT down from list. You will also be privy to any holdbacks or promo money they may have available too....

Welcome to the forums. Your price is a good price, but can probably be talked down a little. I had bought an 05' TL with navi for $33,800 (Last November... come to think of it, exactly one year ago today!) without tax and title but with destination.

I live in the Atlanta area, which is one of the cheapest places to live. I'm sure I can talk it down but not sure how. Like I said I've never done internet car shopping before so I don't know if I should reply on the email and say "No, that's too much." or what? I saw the other thread "How much did you pay for your TL?" and saw some really cheap prices. I guess I'll have to work them down. Thanks for all your help guys. Any more insight would be much appreciated.
The best way to do it is to simply call up a few dealers and say that you are in the market and whichever dealer gives you the best quote will just earn your business. Then take that figure to the other dealers and say well I found this quote of $3x,xxx - will you beat it?
Or, you can find out the invoice price of the car and start at that figure and try to negotiate from there.

Dude....its $12 from consumer reports....buy it already and stop pining on it! It will tell you everything you need to know. I do note though...typically...some of the best deals are done at the end of the month (they have to make sales figures and have no time to wait then).

Correct. I received a quote for my IS300 last Dec., but didn't buy it until Jan., still, the dealer honor it and actually gave it to me $150 less.
