Question Tint Installation Quality?

Just curious about the results people have had with aftermarket tint installed?

I recently had my 06 TL done and a couple of small (1mm giver or take) air pockets or tiny imperfections are noticeable.

Please share your experience with your tint. Any bubbles? How clean are the window edges? Does the tint go all the way to the top or is there any gap?

Cheers

I have had numerous tints done .. never any bubbles etc. The tint comes within 1/32 " of the top window edge on the side windows , it can't go right up or it will catch on the seal when it closes and it pulls it off. On the stationary windows it goes right to the edges.

Its normal to see some cloudy areas on newly done windows but it goes away.

I got 35% done and i love the job, They got almost all the way to the edge of the window, of course not all the way to the edge like jesstzn said but its almost up there. No bubbles at all and the stationary windows are all the way to the edge i also got the moleskin installed so no Scratching as of now

you can have a couple of bubbles 2 -3 but anything after that you might want them to redo the window.

i have one tiny bubble, its not really obvious. i paid 170 (or 175, cant remember) for the 3m. i dont have moleskin, dont have scratches. i dont think it will hurt to have it installed though. when the sun is shinning directly onto the tint while looking through the window from the inside of the car it appears uniformly cloudy. not as much as when the job was first done, but its not clear. ive never had tint on a car before so i cannot compare to others but i would like to have it less cloudy. acutally i dont give a fuck because i dont have the fronts tinted but it does seem weird that it never went away totally. if this is normal someone tell me so i dont say stupid shit like this about the tint anymore.

I paid $325 at Lorenzo's tint in the Bronx (Tint plus moleskin on 4 doors). 35% on the doors and 20% on the rear glass. Tints came out perfect, all the way to the top, no bubbles, nada. Price may seem steep but my whip is financed so i want a job that lasts. Seriously, will anyone be looking back year from now saying i wasted $325 on tints? Nah.. .
