Timing Belt Change: Is it Time?

Hi guys;

I have an 07 TL Type S with almost 84k miles on her. I recall when I bough the car that it wouldn't need a tune up and timing belt change until 100k miles but the dealer told me Acura recommends a timing belt change every 7 years regardless of miles. Is that true or will it be safe to wait another year?

Reason I ask is I'm debating on selling the car in about 6 months to a year and I'd hate to sink almost $1k into it knowing that.

thanks.

Sorry if I don't recall. Just went through major sinus surgery and daily constant headaches is affecting my memory.

Thanks for all the advise guys. Definitely not changing it now.

I got a good year left of my car before any major service is needed. I think I will sit tight till then before jumping ship.

Your car will tell you when it's time to change the belt. Literally.

Yet to find a high mileage TLX which has completed the timing belt service. Carfax does mention all of the other regular maintenance...
