Im sorry for hyping it up so much by taking so long. I want to see them on the car more than anybody. My plan was to have it done already, but it hasn't worked out that way. I promise they'll be on the car by the end of the week, and I'll put together a DIY after that.

Im sure not everybody will like them when they see the final pics. Thats cool, everybody has their own opinion, and everybody likes to mod their own car differently.

I dont mean to add to the hype, but I thought some people would like a better pic of the finished taillight.

Did you block out your signals or is that blacked out?

The inside of the turn signal is still reflective chrome. The turn signal cover is tinted black. I bought some 3 watt red LED bulbs. I tried them out with a power supply, and they lit up pretty good, but they're still not as bright as stock. Im trying to figure out a way to improve it before I put them on.

You're killing me here!!! What do we have to do to see them on the car?!?!? I don't think you're hyping it up too much.....we just all want to see them installed, because so far the pics you've posted are makin me think your lights will make the TL look even more pimp than it already does!!!

On a side note, where did you get the LED's from that you're using? I've seen some 7W LED's (as a matter of fact I have a flashlight with one it) that are beyond bright. That might be something to look for if you're trying to find a brighter one. My

they look good, but from about 5+ ft away they will look like nothing more than rock blocker film.
personally, i hope you have a red reflector under there because if not that's illegal and dangerous. A reflector on the front sides is different, you can go without, but on the rear of the car at night while parked or something....at motorist may not see the car

way to be orignal though

It should only take a couple hours. I could only do it at night, and its been in the 20s and 30s at night. Im gonna do it no matter what in the next couple days.

I've thought about the reflector issue. The clear reflectors are still there just tinted. Im not sure how good they'll work until I put them on. I do live in a big city that is always lit up though, and I dont have to worry about inspections in Illinois. Im sure there will be times I have to be careful where I park. When other people do this mod, they will have an option of using the red reflectors, and they could tint them any darkness they want.

Thanks again everybody. The tails definitely look crazy in person. In the sunlight they almost blend into the car. At night they look darker. The brightness of the lights is the same or brighter than stock. The picture I posted was with the parking lights on. The holes I drilled for the brake LEDs look cool at night cause you can see the individual LEDs better.

The turn signals I used were smt tower LEDs. The same that Kennedy bought in this thread (The #2). Click here I also used the #4's for the license plate lights and they work great. Thanks Kennedy. I was really suprised with the smt tower LEDs. They are really bright and light up the whole housing.

As far as the reflector issue, they still reflect at night. The part where the park/brake LEDs are at reflect a lot when off. More pics coming soon.

Cool! Glad those towers worked out for ya too!

This is definatle on the list, just gotta figure what color would look best with WDP.

I'm confused, what holes did you drill for the brake leds?

There's a lens right in front of the LEDs. That lens can be removed, and I drilled a 1/4" hole for each LED to shine through. I'll try to give more details in the DIY.
