Sunglasses holder?

I just got through my 1st weekend with my TL. I was looking for a sunglasses holder to no avail. I looked in the owner's manual and noticed the diagram in the front shows a holder on both doors. The diagram points to a small recess just forward of the door pouch on each door. This recess is way too small to fit sunglasses, it isn't even close. Am I looking at the right thing here? Thanks!!!!

Joey

Look toward the back of the map pocket..there should be a rubber coated pocket for glasses on both the drivers and pass. side

The "sunglass holder" thing is also a good place for sticking your cell phone if you are so inclined. I put my old cell phone there until I got a v710 on Monday; the v710 now resides in the center armrest so that it can be plugged in. It was really a great idea to put a power outlet in that armrest.

Thanks for all the help guys. The owner's manual picture is pretty deceiving. Like I said, it seems to be pointing forward of the side pouch. I also didn't notice the power outlet in the center console till your last reply. What would I do without you guys?!?!?! I love the fact that there is still so much to learn about this car. Seems like I will constantly be finding new things.

No kidding, Joey. The Mazda RX-8 forum has a sticky thread called "The Little Things" that talks about all the little features people like on their cars. Something similar here might be neat; there are threads that talk about such things but I don't think they're sticky.

The sunglass holder IS too small. My case won't fit. Therefore I keep it in the top center dash compartment.

I think that the sunglass holder is designed to hold your sunglasses directly. I don't think it was designed to house the case as well. My sunglasses are fairly large (wrap-around Revos), and they fit fine. There's no way, however, that they'd fit, if I put them in a case first.

Alot of users have posted features thay have "found" on the TL. It is quite a long thread, but post number 229 (By CarCar) includes a pretty thorough list of really cool discoveries.
