A-spec brake pads part # help

It's time for some new brake pads and I need some help. I want to get the a-spec brake pads, but I am unsure of the part numbers. I was suprised that there wasn't anything in the 3g garage and the search just wasn't answering my question. Also I can't find them on the oem parts websites. I have a 2005 6mt with the brembo front calipers. The only part number I found was 08P89-SEP-200. Is this for the brembos or just the automatic? What is the correct part number if you have the brembo brakes?

You have the correct part # - 08P89-SEP-200. I just put these on my '06 Automatic and they made a huge difference. Here's where I got them: eBay Link

The A-spec pads are for AT's only. Not MT's.

So would I just get the regular brembo front pads and the rear a spec pads? Since the rear calipers are the same for all TL's. I'm still confused why they wouldn't offer it for the 6mt.

The main benefit of the A-Spec pads is the reduction of brake fade, which is a significant issue on the AT's w/o Brembo's. If you are replacing pads, and have Brembo's on your TL, stick with the appropriate replacements for the Brembo's.

As far as the rears are concerned, you are likely to only realize a marginal improvement in performance by upgrading to A-Spec's given the fact that you have 4-piston Brembo's on the front.

Also, near as I can tell, the A-Spec pads only come in a complete set for all 4 wheels.

I noticed that too so I wasn't sure. So essentially we are saying that there is no A-spec brake pad option for those of us with the brembos? It just doesn't seem fair.

Well, I suspect that no matter how much better my brakes perform with A-Spec pads on them, that it still doesn't hold a candle to yours with the Brembos. At the end of the day, you still win.

I'm about due for pads on my '08 TL-S thanks for the info. I think I'm just doing the stock pads on the rear for now.

I suppose it's not just the pad that makes it better. It must be the fact that the brembos are 4 piston and not just 2. Hence no need for better pads. Also, the brembo pads must be pretty good since they cost the same or more Just for the front than the front and rear A-spec pads combined.

I would have maybe sold you my rear aspec pads, but I am so impressed with the front aspec pads that I just installed that I may replace my rears even though the originals have 50% remaining. If anything, just go with a premium ceramic rear pad and you'll be set in combo with the brembos.

I was about to get some regular rear pads at the dealer, but since they don't do much work stopping the car then I am just going to pick some up at the auto store. It'll be cheaper too.

Are the regular stock rear pads ceramic or semi-metallic?

given the lack of dust, i'd have to say they are ceramic.

question.. oemacuraparts.com is telling me the part # 08p89-sep-200 is only for the 2007+ tl's. Yet, I'm seeing people with the 04-06's putting them on their cars. What is the truth? Will the aspec pads work on the 04-06's??
