So.....where is everybody I used to know?!
So.....where is everybody I used to know?!
Greetings peoples!
It's been awhile. Still have the TL. Wondering if I still know any people from back in the day.
To everyone I don't know (newer), you should be glad to know I still love my TL after almost 10 years...
Anything cool I've missed in the past few years I haven't been on here?

OP most people moved on to other cars, I am sure that after the Acura, I am going to get a Taurus. Transmission seems to hold up a lot better than Acura/Honda unit. I need a car that can reliably last 150K-180K on the ORIGINAL transmission...
Yep, I remember when you switched to that

I'm here. Bought the car in Dec of '05 and joined this site around March of '06. I remember asking on my "home" board turbobuick.com if there was an acura site and I was pointed over here.

We have had 3 or 4 epic HoF threads from fellow 3G members including one who got called out by his wife. It was so epic we had respondents from Antarctica join.
Most of the OGs hang out in Ramblings and Car Talk as mentioned. It's mostly the blind following the blind here. Nothing new, same repetitive threads about seafoam, ATF, oil, driveshafts, cracked dashes, how do I convert my rice burner into a twin turbo rwd / awd lambo killer, etc..

Most of the OGs who still frequent are usually too fed up to help because when they do post a helpful post, the newbie follows the advice of some dillweed who just posted about adding fake chrome emblems to the TL. So with all that said, best bet is find a fellow OG and ask help via PM or VM.
wow, its gotten pretty douche around here. Who the hell are you, ya douche nugget?!
glad to see you're still here!
I remember you! Hope your TL is still runnin strong!
Less than 5 years. HA! I must admit, the last time I did this I totally forgot about it and that happened a few years ago.
6 years is awhile. Life got a bit busy and crazy but I still love my TL. It's nice to come back once in awhile to see if there's new stuff goin on. Last thing I did was change the resistor directly on the board for my blinkers instead of using the module. Acurazine still helps after so many years!
sweet. thanks for the info. i figured, after a few years, the useful information would regress and it would just be a repeat of many things that have been brought up in the past.
All in all, im glad to see there's still a lot of members on here. Some have moved on but some are still here. Some douche-ness exists, third reply to this thread, but most are still pretty cool, everyone else.

3G TL is now the cesspool of AZ because your TL is now worth the equivalent of a beater civic.

On the street I've seen the changes as well. Gone are the clean stock TLs and tastefully modded TLs. I see so many that are lowered cheaply that bounce around all over. They're rolling on aftermarket 16"-17" rims that are cheaper and look worse than stock. Instead of having an intelligent conversation with a fellow owner at a light you get the wannabe thug trying to look hard which I actually enjoy. Or you get the kid trying to race in heavy traffic.
Inacc is still kicking somewhere in Houston. He stopped frequenting ever since he found out Justn was from H-town as well.
Last thing I heard was he was selling his TL I think.. and was into Quadrotors.

I sometimes see his 04 AM TL with single exit exhaust early in the mornings on my commute to work.
I dont know if that's him or not.
we have talked and he knows my suburb, Sugar Land, really well.

"Resident?"

Does that mean you're staying, and not just passing through on the way to some other site?
The 3rd gen TL section has become the "New Floriduh" News...
While most of us are safe in the better neighborhood called "Ramblings" we sometimes wander back to the 3rd gen TL section when calling paypal fails.

coincidentally, he lives one city/suburb over from me and has to pass 59/i69 to get to Downtown, presumably where he works.

Some of us are still out here, hiding in the woodwork. I check in about once a week nowadays, instead of like 3x a day like I did back in 2006-2009. I don't remember the last time I even started a thread, I just randomly comment here and there; like I did in this thread. Topicwise it's all been said at this point. Most new threads are by newbies that don't search, it's annoying.
But it was different back in the day when we were just discovering this car and trying new stuff never done before. Meets are hardly the way they used to be. We used to do them much more often, interest has waned. No doubt I still love AZine, it's just not as interesting as it was and some of the OG people have moved on.
Now maybe if I get a 5GTL I can get a new lease on AZine life. Hmmmm.

practically brand new.
so far, the only trouble the car has given me are my own fuck ups.
Curbs, trees, crabs, breaking things while fixing things, etc.
and I generally help out with any questions that I can, however, it does get annoying to repeat info 20x over.
and end up getting frustrated with people and then that's when the asshat comes out.
oh damn, whats up? how you been?
Guess you're right. Makes a lot of sense. I guess the older the cars get, the worse they get, the cheaper they get, different group of people buy second hand cars, higher likely hood of de-evolution. thanks for the informative post! it's very much appreciated.
ok ok, you seem pretty chill for the resident douche... how do you like your TL? any thoughts/comments after purchasing it off someone else or joining the forums after a few years of purchasing it first-hand?
handbrake turns?! oye... hahahaha
I remember within a couple years after the 3G came out, there was a video of someone trying to do donuts in reverse in the snow...
I remember checking azine several times a day as well back then. i guess once most of the stuff has been discovered and we've exhausted most of the possibilities, takes a long time for something new and interesting to pop up.
So true. The 3G has become worse than the 2G was when I first bought my 3G. It seems like there were two 3 distinct crowds. The original owners which were a good group, the second owners that were buying lease returns which were also a good crowd, and then there's the rest. There are a few good new members here and there but the overall IQ has dropped to the primate level.

i bought the car in 2010 with 30k miles.

i think most of us left or fell off cause new people wouldn't use the search feature. so i feel your pain about repetition...
azine is still pretty chill to check in on once in awhile though. slowly upgrading your car by adding small to large mods here and there over time help to keep interest in your own car. kinda gives it a new feeling, refreshes it a bit and keeps it fun.
I think the last time I had any real interest in anything that went on around here was when the turbo TL thread first started. That was fun. The past couple years have been half assed posts from my phone, bad grammar and spelling and repeating myself lots of times along with leaving out important points because I stopped caring. I can spend a good bit of time trying to help one of the noobs and the way I can tell it probably worked is when the don't reply back and the thread dies. I don't care to be thanked but it would be nice to know the outcome of their situation for others that have the same problem.
