Snow performance

Live in Western PA and bought my 2007 TL back in March. Haven't had to deal with the elements at all yet. How can I expect it to perform? Coming from a Subaru Legacy so I know it's going to be quick a change for me.

equip the vehicle with some tires that can handle snow, and you will be fine.

Snow tires will make the car more enjoyable to drive in the winter months. With a summer tire, all you will do is spin since these cars seem to rev up quick down low.

I live in Texas, where I've never encountered snow.
but seems to make the most sense, as I equip my vehicle how I want the car to perform! since it's always summer here, I LOVE ME SOME PERFORMANCE summer tires.
and it wouldnt take a genius to see how little tread a summer tire has...and tread = grip. so, if no tread....you would spin in water/snow.

in other words; equip the vehicle for the road conditions

Snow tires ftw. I've used blizzaks on both my old and current TL and they perform great in the snow.

I ran Blizzaks for a couple years then switched to a different brand I can't remember off hand. I think I will be going back to Blizzaks on a 7" wide wheel. They cut through the snow and have great grip! Hopefully I can find a winter vehicle so I don't have to work about that!

I got my TL January of 2015 and figured I could get through the Pittsburgh winter on the bridgestone all seasons. It was complete ass in the snow, and I struggled to get up the hill to my house. Last winter I got some 16" wheels and 4 cooper snow tires. Night and day difference. Even living in Erie last winter, I did not have one single issue. So purchase some snow tires and you will be fine.

snow tire will provide plenty of traction I drove my TL in the snow with the original tires came with the car and I had to say it ok, put on some snow tire and you will be ok.

The TL does well in the snow in my opinion. With the transmission being able to be started in 2nd gear and the transmission grade logic that slows without braking made me appreciate the TL in the snow. But also like others have said, tires make a huge difference!

I ran blizzaks on my TL on my stock wheels, stock size, 235/45/17 for the last 2 years through Syracuse, NY winters. It's the snowiest city in the US, and I did absolutely fine! Sometimes you have to turn the traction cotntol off to get going, but I have a 6MT too so I'd rather not have it on and just have full control of the car. The previous year I had Pilot Sport 3 A/S's, and it was honestly unsafe to be driving, but I made is all winter without being stuck, or crash, thankfully.

Ran 235/45R-17 GENERAL ALTIMAX ARCTIC last winter. Didn't have any problems getting around but overall not impressed - my Miata was better. I think I just cheaped out on these tires, as there's no reason for the car not to kick ass with snow tires and an LSD. Like I said though, it still did well (certainly better than all-seasons) and I'm going to use those tires again this year.

My '08 came with average all season snow tires. The car was dangerous in the snow. Next winter I got some very good snow tires and new rims with a -1 conversion. Now it's better than any all wheel drive car I've been in.

Our other car is a Subaru Forester and in the winter, we usually take the TL when we go out. It's that good.
