Damn. I think I might be interested in the lip, that is an excellent deal on genuine Acura stuff. Doesn't the OEM lip spoiler have to be screwed in as well as taped down?

This'll be the third item I've bought from Tim if I do it (I bought the A-Spec body kit and extended warranty before....)

Yeah it does have to be screwed down but I wouldnt think the dealer would charge to much to install it. dunno really, thats what Im going to do.

If you guys are going with the rear deck lid spoiler, make sure you measure correctly and not just follow the template blindly. Learn from my mistake. I thought I had the template aligned correctly, started drilling, and found out the passenger side of the lip spoiler wasn't out far enough to make it sit really flushed. I'll re-align it again some other time and get 3M double sided tape this time so that the adhesive won't come undone like the OEM tape.

I think I am intersted in the wing as well. Quick question though. Out of curiosity, has any one had any good for bad experiences with the "copies" of the OEM spoilers on ebay that you can get for like $100-200? Id much rather by an actual acura part myself, i was just curious.

Drilled into the trunk, then screwed in. The wing spoiler will require you to install the trunk spring whereas you can bypass the trunk spring for the decklid spoiler.

The lip spoiler from trimking doesn't require drilling since it's all double sided tape. I've heard that his spoilers match the paint very accurately.

thanks for clearing that up.

although i would prefer the OEM...i would rather have it 3M taped on....since the spoiler itself doesnt weigh much, it doesn't seem likely (knock on wood) that it would easily come off while driving.

The factory rear wing spoiler should come with new trunk springs. I do not see that listed anywhere.

I dont know and I would appreciate it if nobody else would ask or talk about copies. This thread is intended for Tims sale and not for anybody outside of AcuraZine. Please do not post any ebay links either, I will delete them.

trancemission,

It might help people if the spring removal tool were up for sale. Installing them without the the tool can extremely difficult!

black - I am very unhappy with my 'copy' just recieved. Not as stated. I'm trying to arrange a return, but so far - no response.
I'd much prefer OEM but don't like the concept about drilling a hole in the trunk lid. Or paying a fortune to have it done. Course, I don't trust "tape" holding a body part on our car either.

I might be interested in this GB.

Has anyone installed the OEM spoiler by just using the double sided 3M tape? Obviously drilling would be the proper method but I can't get myself to drill holes in my car. Body side molding is held by double sided tape, you would think a spoiler that sits on top of the trunk would be ok with the 3M tape.

Extended Warranty? How does that work? Oh, nevermind I looked it up on his site and you need less than 6k on the odometer...

Is Tim behind on his PM's or just selective? I sent a PM a couple weeks ago and it's still marked as unread.

I'm also interested in this GB for a winged spoiler.

Thanks.
