please help me find stuff to make my tl look cool!!
hey, I'm looking for the clear front signals on the 04 tl, where can I find them? Also, what about other add ons for the car? Suspension? Wheels? Other lights? Anything?
Thanks.
Thanks.

your post title is gonna be open to a lot of flaming. the TL looks hot as is. there is a member that has cleared and blacked out his lights...it looks hot. i would search and ask him.

All you really need to do to make a '04TL look cool is keep it clean!!! Acura Design team did one heck of a great job with this car...don't screw it up with tacky add-on's!! Rims??...better tires???...yeah!!!!.....anything else is really rice!!!

IMHO, you are limited to window tint, a nice set of wheels and/or the A-Spec Body kit. Anything else would detract from an already beautiful car.

Just for looks:
-Drop the car
-Put some tasteful rims on
My basic list of things I want to get done:
-Suspension work (stiffer shocks, bigger sway-done)
-Summer tires and 18" forged rims (looking at the BBS RSGT)
-Comptech Icebox or AEM with bypass valve (not out yet)
-Aftermarket exhaust (50 state legal)
-Comptech Supercharger or Custom Turbo (Still contemplating if its worth it)
-Change flywheel and pulleys
-Change out to a stronger clutch (also contemplating, because it also affects driveability)
I'm sure you didn't want to know all my plans (hopefully they work out), but just trying to throw you a bone...

As for Clearing out the Turn Signals.
1) If you search around here you will find the general consensus is DONT do it yourself.
2) To actually do it, you have to remove the front bumper and part of the Battery bracket, and then remove the front lights. Once the lights are out you need to heat them to a certain temperature (I dont remember what temp, and people here used an oven for this) in order to make the seal between the backing and the clear front part loose. Once you have hit the magic temp, you esentially pry the 2 peices apart and try not to break/scratch/fuck anything. Once that is done, the amber peice inside is supposedly very easy to remove. Then you have to put the 2 peices of the lights back together (probably involves reheating the components) followed by a re-coating of the seals with some kind of all weather sealant made for plastic (this keeps the rain/wash water out of the light and prevents the light from fogging up on humid days). Then put the lights back in, the battery brackets back on and the front bumper back on. If your not sure about all that, see Note # 1 above.
3) Several people on these forums, mostly 2nd Gen owners have used the services of a guy on here. Apparently he is now in hot water with the owner because he gets alot of business off referrals from here but hasnt worked out a proper advertising/payment plan with the owner/operator of this site. His price is a bit high but not totally unrealistic.
4) Since hes in New Jersey and I'm on the West Coast, and I had a month to shop around while waiting for my TL to arrive, I found a local shop here in CA that does Light Mods like Clearing and Blacking out and I decided to go with them to do the mod for me. It was cheaper than what he wanted and since its all local, there is no Shipping to worry about as well. If I didnt feel comfortable with the shop owner when I went down to meet him the other day, I would have probably shipped them to him anyway. But this guy seemed like he knew what he was doing and said he had cleared another 04 TL within the past week.
So, as far as clearing your lights, the best answer is to find a bunch of local shops that do custom wheels, lights, AV, etc and call them and ask if they can clear the inside of a headlight. Follow that up with "Have you done an 04 TL?" and if yes, follow that up with "How much and How Long if I bring you the car (meaning, they would pull the bumper and battery bracket for you) (PS: I'm paying my dealer $200 to do the bumper and battery bracket since my baby is back there for a full A-Spec kit anyway)
As far as other mods, most people here will usually agree that what makes a car cool is when its unique but tasteful. Tasteful is definately something that can be discussed on these forums, but to be unique, you shouldn't be asking a bunch of other people what they think you should do. You should be making that decision on your own (well in all reality you should be making those suggestions to your brother and letting him make the decision)

first of all.....pay no attention to the haters......most of them are 40+ and can't get it up anymore......so understandably they're a little cranky
get some 19" ronjon inspyre rims (chrome)....get the OEM bodykit (or wait for others to hit the market).....tint your windows.....and drop your car and it should be looking pretty tight and if your car has navi......do the conversion and put some monitors in the headreasts so you can watch movies on your nav screen....there's really not much of an aftermarket for this car, so i think that's about it for now....

I think the 19" may be a bit too big. While they look pretty nice on that black TL in the Photo gallery, I can't help but think a set of 18" would look that much better.
